First time to this "off-the-beaten-track" well appointed pub since we were teenagers! Very well received by bar staff; excellent and varied menu + 'Specials' board; good choice of ales and wines. The sticky toffee pudding was "to die for". We will certainly visit again - but won't wait so long his time...

A lovely rural retreat, great food, a good selection of Real Ales, Ciders (some local) and general pub beers. This Freehouse is in a beautiful rural setting with very comfortable, well appointed rooms. A really good breakfast is waiting to start your day and later on a great selection of food is served all day. Unfortunately we had to change... More

We stayed here because it was handy for Bristol Airport where we were meeting up with family. We were given room 1 which was very tastefully furnished and spotless. My wife is disabled and had to be careful up the 4 steps to the bathroom, even more so in the dark, the bathroom could do with a shower cubicle, but you are made... We booked this place after trying it two days before. The food is very homely and excellent quality. We had an oggie steak and kidney pie. This was excellent from every perspective the meat was of the highest quality with no fat at all and the puff pastry was extremely light. Nothing was too much trouble even asking for extra... More

Had lunch here whilst passing through the area. The food was fantastic, Great Choice and service was excellent. Couldn't fault it at all. Would definitely recommend. Both myself and my husband had the Oggie, which I could definitely recommend.

Stayed here in April for a family wedding, beautiful location. Lovely traditional pub and large restaurant, excellent breakfast choice, really nice food for both breakfast and dinner. Large seating area outside with a park for children. The rooms are immaculate, room 3 (I think) had a really large bathroom with rain shower and his and hers sinks. Room 2 was... More

We stayed at the Hunters Rest this May for three nights with our dog Flash as we were attending a dog agility event at a local county show ground. The Hotel is very pleasant and the owner and the staff are very welcoming. The hotel is on a very quiet lane and there is a large garden at the rear... More

The first time we stayed was a week ago; we phoned late on on a Sunday evening. We were not expecting to have to stay in the area, but there was a family crisis and we needed a place to stay. Having tried a couple of other numbers off Tripadvisor, some of whom were unhelpful in the extreme, others just... More

After a slight mess up of room reservation the staff went above and beyond to make up for a mistake. Really warm and friendly place at one the nicest pubs I think I've ever been to. Idyllic setting in the heart of the countryside with tradition decor and great food. Feel massive refreshed and relaxed from just one nights stay.... More

We found ourselves in Bristol unexpectedly on a mercy mission to a specialist vet with our dog. Knowing he might be kept in overnight I'd looked at reviews for somewhere to stay and in among the dire city hotels was this gorgeous inn. After a delicious lunch we asked about rooms and as they were fairly quiet we were offered... More
