We have been occasional lunchtime visitors to the Ringo for around 30 years - makes a good starting/pausing place when walking from/through Compton Martin. It is apparently no longer a Butcombe Brewery pub, in fact I'm not at all sure what it is trying to be now. Whatever it is, it isn't working during the day (maybe things improve in... More

Every time we visit the Ring O'Bells we have a great time for many reasons. The drive down is beautiful, winding roads through the country (only around 30 minute drive from Bristol) and then after soaking up the views you are greeted by this gem. Such a cozy age old traditional pub with two dramatic fire places (great in the... More

my Partner and I have been coming to the ring o bells for about a year. We were fortunate enough to attend their Burn night dinner on Saturday and what a night!!!! We were greeted at the door by the new landlady, and treated like royalty throughout the evening. My Partner and I both had the set menu which consisted... More

The Ring O Bells is a local village pub like no other. The dark and dated fixtures were ripped out and replaced with wooden floors and interesting objects when the new owners Miles and Luca Leonard took over the pub in Oct 2012 with their friends Matt and Fiona. The outside was also given an overhaul to give the pub... More

Whilst recently visiting family and friends in Compton Martin I became a regular visitor over a number of days to the Ring O Bells . I sampled a great selection of local beers and ciders and had some memorable meals as well as meeting some great characters. It seems to me,from reading earlier reviews, that the early teething problems have... More

We thought we would visit after reading the reviews of others on here, not sure if they went to the same place, we waited nearly 15mins to get served at the bar and when we asked if we could eat we were asked "have you booked" in a sirly voice, we said no to which we were told "we will... More

We visited the ing O Bells whilst walking the Butcombe Trail and had lunch. It was fabulous, the food was obviously home made and very well presented. The owners were very helpful and when we enquired about accommodation they were happy to show us a room. Great feel to the pub and will definitely be back for a weekend stay.
