Thought we'd have an early supper at The Wellington as we know that Bath Ales' establishments have a good reputation. Not quite sure what they're trying to achieve with the food, but very uninspiring. Battered haddock - not much batter and not even sure it was haddock, very small amount of mushy peas and 'real' chips very dry. Service -... More

We stayed here for my son's graduation at the end of July. We called ahead to arrange an early arrival so we might change. We got there just after 11am and could use the room. The staff were delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Five of us ate Friday night and despite being very busy the service was great.... More

I have been a customer of the Wellington on many occasions since it was first taken over by Bath Ales. In the past I have been very pleased with the quality of the beer and food which in the early days was exceptional. Until my recent visit the last time I visited was January 2014 at which time I thought... More

We chose this hotel for its informal atmosphere and easy access on the north of the city centre. It was very easy to find from the M4/M32, and upon arrival there was a feel good air as the Friday night crowd started to build up. We were pleased that our room was fresh and clean, and the bathroom was particularly... More

We have spent a fair bit of time here recently, due to the fact that my father is in hospital. But tonight decided to have a meal, and what a great decision that was. We were seated at the back of the pub, never even knew that there was a dining area. the staff were just soooo helpful and even... More

The staff here were lovely, very attentive, friendly and totally genuine. It's so nice to find a place that is really child friendly without being naff and the staff made a real effort with my kids- this is something that is very important to me because if I go to a place where my (very well behaved) children aren't made... Being a local, I've been a regular of The Welly as it's known for 7 years but after this evening I won't be back. I ate at the pub a couple of weeks ago and had a burger which was so chewy it must have been defrosted in the microwave. The chips were equally chewy and cooked in fryers that... More

Hi Sable2608, I am so sorry to hear about your less than satisfactory visit. As you'll see from our other reviews, and by the sounds of it from your years of frequenting us, on the whole we get it so right. We don't want to lose any of our valued guests so if you'd like to give us another try... More

Met some friends there who were staying there for a few beers. The room was simply wonderful and as usual their Bath Ales were really good. I had the stout for the first time and it was great. A truly great city pub. That must be rammed in a good night.

Came in a couple of weeks ago looking for somewhere to watch the Heineken Cup quarter finals. Although not being shown at the Pub the staff where hugely helpful in directing my friend and I as to where to go to find the rugby. Made a point to come back after the Rugby had finished and put some money behind... More
