Firstly - a fanstatic little hotel set in a wonderful location just near Blaise Castle Museum. Check in was swift, with a very cheery receptionist who ensured she upsold breakfast as we were on a room only rate. We then checked into our room - which was very tastfully decorated, and comfortable bed. We were attending a wedding reception at... more

we stayed at this hotel in october 2008 for a lunchtime reception after the funeral of my mother in law. The staff were accomadating, tactful, always mindfull of our needs the food was good, the lunch and the staff providing tea and coffee, because we were cold after the service----- the rooms very comfortable we felt we had sole use... more

This is a great place to stay, right from the character of the place with interesting rooms to the fantastic staff. The rooms have interesting features, rather than the clinical rooms in modern hotels, They are also well equipped with tea making facilities, alarm clock / radio with Ipod docking station, wired ethernet LAN (Wifi is also available in the... more

As a contractor for Airbus I was placed at the Henbury Lodge on their recommendation. I'm glad they did because it is a charming hotel. The staff there were friendly and courteous, and very helpful. As I stay away from home a lot on business this was a welcome change from some of the more faceless corporate establishments that I... more

Oh dear. With just a little more thought and attention the stay could have been so different. When I registered, a complimentary morning paper was offered. The next day there was nothing outside my room so I went to reception through a biting cold wind to collect it, only to be told that they did not have this service. After... more

Really enjoyed our stay at Henbury Lodge. Lovely building, friendly staff, great food. I went with my husband and two small children and we all had a fantastic time. We visited Blaise Castle which is just round the corner along with a huge park with lovely walks. Would definately go back there again. more

My best friend and I wanted to get out of London for the weekend, she used to go to Bristol Uni so going back to her old haunt seemed like a good idea, and I'm so glad we did. I had never been to Bristol before and the culture, atmosphere and people were all very magnetic, the icing on the... more

Do not be fooled by the wonderful photo on the website - you will be sorely disappointed when you arrive. The hotel is on a busy corner, so if you are in a front room the traffic noise is pretty loud as the windows are old and ill-fitting. The hotel decorations are tired; whilst our room was a good size... more

FOR: Room clean and spacious. Quiet. Staff friendly and polite. Parking secure. Same price as a premier travel inn. Evening meal OK (going by the menu) if you want fancy restaurant food. We found a steakhouse 100 yds down the road, which was excellent value. Breakfast was OK. AGAINST: Evening meal you have to have 2 courses minimum. Why? That... more
