My room was ok clean, adequate and the bed comfortable but the breakfast is a buffet affair with pretty much everything over cooked, and no fresh fruit ie grapefruit so I reached for a bit of fruit and got a bit more than I bargained for and obviously from the mold growth the fruit bowl doesn't get cleaned very often... Beautiful house and friendly staff. Daughter had her wedding celebrations here and everyone commented on the venue. Once behind the walls you forget you are in a busy city. The day went without a hitch and we had the house to our selves. We could not fault the food and service which was effortlessly provided by all the staff. The... More

I stayed here two nights for work and can't fault The Beeches. When I checked in they upgraded me to a double room rather than a single, as I was travelling alone and they weren't at all busy, so that was a lovely treat. The building is beautiful with a lot of Victorian character. My room was lovely with a... More

Hidden behind an industrial estate on the edge of the city sits a gem of a hotel. The welcome was warm, accommodation comfortable, great shower and value for money very good. The only negatives - the decor particularly carpets are very aged and breakfast was on from 0730.

Stayed for two nights, friendly staff on arrival. It is in its own grounds which are very near to an industrial estate, The hotel is very dated, our room was large with a four poster bed, the room had a very old smell about it, the large bathroom with wonky floors but had plenty of towels and toiletries, bed was... I can't explain or even preach enough goodness about this hotel. I booked a room for one night because I travel across the UK for work, so stay in hotels the majority of my time but this place and the friendliness and helpfulness which was far beyond the job descriptions of the owner (and owners friend) is just a story... On arrival the receptionist was very friendly, helpful and as I had to literally check in that dash off to Cardiff via Bristol there assistance and understanding was faultless. The hotel is nice perhaps a little tired but NOT in a "oh my goodness what have I booked" way. It has the feeling of an old country manner (only smaller)... More

We booked for two nights and the WiFi stated on the website was a must have, we went to the cricket and my Australian hubby has arranged to Skype his family in Australia. WiFi didn't work and when I told the receptionist she informed me that it doesn't in all rooms. Shaver plug in bathroom didn't work. Cracked tiles in... More

And the reason is that if you saw the size of the room before you paid you would probably walk away. Once you put our bags in the room you could not walk around. We asked if we could have another room but the receptionist told us they were full and that anyway the other rooms were not much bigger.... More

Always my preferred place to stay in Bristol- so clean, welcoming and friendly and the family and staff who run The Beeches can't do enough for you to ensure you have a great stay! Rooms are individual, some with fabulous huge 4 poster beds and all immaculately clean, well equipped and Wifi reception excellent. Genuinely feel safe, secure and looked... More
