I found this hotel to be exactly what I needed. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable - there were a couple training, but they still tried to help me as best they could. The rooms are varied in decor (some newer than others) - I saw a couple as was interested in booking my family in and needed to... More

The Washington Hotel gave good value for money. A warm and friendly welcome by the reception staff who were able to direct us to good restaurants and places to visit. Our room was clean and that was important to us. The location of the hotel was near Bristol city centre and Clifton village so proved a good place to stay. More

I stayed at the Washington recently and found it excellent value for money. The staff on the front desk were always lovely and friendly and the 24 reception was very helpful for nights out as you didn't have to worry about the key! The room we had on the first night was next to the reception, which was convienient but... More

I stayed here in the week before Christmas so the atmosphere around the hotel was really festive and friendly! I visit Bristol quite regularly, but this is the first time I have ventured up to Clifton from the city centre and I have to say I will be doing it again - the area is much nicer and it is... More

Me & my boyfriend stayed here for 2nights whilst visiting friends in bristol. The hotel was excellent, the staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was a little on the small side but it didn't really bother us, and it was also very very warm. Not so much a problem for me but my boyfriend thought it was to... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in November 2011. Although the decor is a little tatty it is a great hotel if you are on a budget. The room we stayed in overlooked St Paul's Road and did not keep us awake during the night and the bed was comfy. The room was small but sufficient and... More

I went to Bristol with a colleague on a course and stayed at The Washington Hotel for 1 night. We were provided with excellent customer service and the hotel was good value for money. The twin room had good facilities and the beds were very comfortable. Properly the only criticism was the shower temperature did not remain at a constant... More

The staff at this Hotel are very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately everything else is terrible. The small towels, though clean, had very little if any pile left on them. When the bath taps were turned on the showerhead sprayed me, the wall and the floor. I thought there was a large cockroach on the bathroom... More

I am extremely sorry that this reviewer's experience of the Washington was not a wholly positive one - this is not the feedback that any of of the team here would like to hear as as the reviewer points out, every team member is very tuned in to making every guests' stay an enjoyable one. It is also very unusual... More

When we have been there, we got a room down in basement right next to the breakfast room. Room was small, twin beds, the furniture old, the room door worked only from outside, but didn´t go open from inside (the receptionist-man, fixed that with a little "kick"). The kitchen stuff was a bit loud in the early morning (woke us... More

Great value for money, clean, easy to find and park. Check in was quick and efficient and the room was entirely adequate [if needed a little updating]. The location was great, we walked into the city reasonably quickly and there were pubs and restaurants very closeby. Breakfast was good. Perfect for our needs. More
