We stayed in March and made the reservation with Booking.com as there was more detail on their website than on the Bowl's own site. I requested a quiet room as a lot of feedback went on about the church and road. Yes on a Sunday morning there will be church bells, that's what happens. I asked for a late check... More

I have stayed at the Bowl Inn during my Buisness trip to Bristol. It was a very nice little place and the staff was very helpful. The Rooms were small but the beds were very good. Had a wonderful sleep. The Pub was very originally and again the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was served very fast and tasted... More

Arrived after a long drive on our way to Cornwall. First impressions were that the village and pub looked very quaint, inviting and we were in a good location. We checked in and I had to request information for the parking, breakfast times and check out. Felt a little unwelcomed by the receptionist. The room was ok. Furniture was a... More

Having lived in the area for a couple of years, we have dined in The Bowl Inn a number of times. Previously, the food has been good, service average (we're not 'locals' so the welcome was not always warm!). When we dined this weekend however (early July 2015) it was horrendous on all counts. It took an age to even... More

We decided to stop here on our way to Cornwall from Manchester to give the dogs and baby a rest. Our hopes we very high as we pulled into what looks like a affluent village. The menu is very restrictive and seriously lacking in the vegetarian options! Starters came out and the mushroom and Stilton was nice and quite moreish... More

My husband, daughter and I stayed at this pub in May 2015. For the price, the accommodation was good value for money. The room was comfortable. We booked a table for dinner in the evening, but their chef hadn't turned up (not their fault), so we went to a nearby pub to eat instead. Breakfast the following morning was pretty... More

A traditional English Inn next to a lovely church in a village that is quintessentially rural but only a stone's throw from the City of Bristol which results in it being the choice of many Bristol commuters. Basic acceptable and comfortable accommodation but very friendly and with a high quality of English food and local ales. We chose it for... More

Arrived on Good Friday for a 2 night stay as visiting the west country from Essex for a family occassion. There were 9 of us staying here and my uncle had actually visited the inn earlier in the day of our arrival to ensure we all got the right rooms (as we have a 3yr old). That's when it all... More

Our room was nice but compact, overlooked the smoking area at the back of the hotel but this was not a problem. The overall appearance was of a clean room, but attention to detail let it down. There was a thick edge of dust and grime all round the floor in the en suite shower room. We had changed rooms... More

Booked this hotel last minute, staff helpful and room was spacious for 1. Checked in without any problems and was given a parking pass as you have to park is the pay and display car park opposite. I was right in the top room but had no problems getting WiFi. Great choice of food for dinner, always encouraging when the... More
