3rd visit, food and service consistent with previous meals - nice roaring fire on a cold day much appreciated. 6 adults, 2 small children - all happy with meals and we stayed from 12 noon to about 5.30pm chatting by the fire, without being made to feel that we should go, as in some places. Small snag was leaf of... More

First impressions were good. The menu was interesting, varied and promised good value. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a large group of regulars who appeared to be best friends with the bar staff - a good sign, we thought. The food took almost 40 mins to arrive, but when the food arrived it looked great. However the taste... More

I stayed here for one night whilst visiting relatives in the area. The Inn was very welcoming, with the log fires lit and exposed beams. Almondsbury is such a quiet little area, and nice place to stay to get out of the hustle and bustle of Bristol. I stayed in a lovely room with lots of character and was clean... More

Stayed here for one night mid Feb. I am a student and was attending an assessment centre for a graduate job role the next day. Unfortunately I didn't receive an email from the assessors in time, and when already at The Bowl Inn I realised I needed additional paperwork with me that I did not have. Very, very kindly, a... Highly recommended. Went for father in laws birthday as we did last year. Lovely atmosphere on a wet and windy day - friendly welcome and lovely warm fire. 7 of us had a mix of foods - roast beef, roast pork, steaks, pie. All great. Puddings good. We had a lovely relaxed lunch. Top tip arrive for 12 to beat... More

We stayed at The Bowl Inn on a Friday evening having visited Bristol during the day. The following morning we were going to Cardiff. The Bowl Inn was in the ideal location for this trip. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and shown a very pleasant clean bedroom. The room was above the bar and it was noisy... More

We visited The Bowl Inn for lunch after a morning at Cribbs Causeway. The Bowl Inn was about 10/15mins drive into the countryside towards the Severn. The pub had a really good country pub atmosphere and traditional decor. Staff were friendly. We had a starter and main from the lunch menu and were really impressed with the choice and quality... We just needed somewhere to stay near Bristol for one night and luckily the Bowl Inn came up in the search. It was New Year's Day so the menu was restricted but still gave us plenty to choose from and they were also closing the pub early as it was so quiet but we were warned about this immediately on... This is an unpretentious country pub with rooms, popular with locals for eating and drinking, and as accommodation for tourists (like us) and business people working in Bristol, The food was well above the standard of ordinary pub food, and all seemed to be very fresh. The cooked breakfast was straightforward and traditional (although a vegetarian alternative to bacon and... More
