We spent a long weekend here while attending a reunion at nearby Tytherington. Not easy to find but definitely worth the search. Room (#4) was bigger and better appointed than I expected, bed was really comfortable. Included breakfast was excellent. Service was great and it gets very busy with locals.

As others have already mentioned this 16th century Inn is tucked away on the south eastern edge of the Seven Vale, in a charming little area called Almondsbury so is a little difficult to find, but well worth finding. This place originates from 3 cottages that were made into one building to form the present one, We stayed here for... More

Rather difficult to find but well worth it when you get there. Excellent range of Real Ale, good food friendly staff and very comfortable bed!. I was in room 15 - well way from the bar so never heard any noise!

This was just about the dirtiest place we have ever stayed in and was very difficult to find. The entrance was full of leaves and the carpet hadn't been swept in ages. Moving on to the tiled reception area we were greeted with filthy, cracked floor tiles. After being told to "Go as far as the rubber mat and turn... More

We stopped here on the way to visiting Cornwall and what a little gem the Crown Inn is.The accommodation was really spacious, clean and full of character and at only £60 per night it was a real bargain. We booked for a meal, the food was excellent ,fresh and local ingredients were used which was refreshing.A wide choice of drinks and the staff... I'm giving this a 5 star review as I have searched high n low for a fillet steak that tasted good and was cooked how I like it, this being rare. To the bowls inns credit they did both! I will most certainly be back for more. Yes the onion rings were over cooked an the price was a bit... More

I have wanted to stay here for a while but it is always full. I came down for one night with work and was not disappointed. Friendly staff and good quality food at a reasonable price. The room was small but clean and had everything I needed. It is off the main road so nice a quiet.

This little gem is hidden away but if worth the trek. As selection of traditional ales and ciders with a warm atmosphere. The look and feel of the pub is very traditional with a real ‘local’ vibe, but it was not intimidating, but very welcoming and inviting way. The menu is typical pub grub, with standard beer battered cod (which... More

Stayed there for 1 night in July 2014. Friendly staff, good food & rooms were very clean and comfortable. The menu wasn't extensive, but the food was well-cooked and presented. It looks like a small pub from the outside, but there's more to it when you get in. Real olde worlde, it was built in the 11th Century!

The Bowle Inn is something special - real old-world pub set at the heart of a beautiful, unspoiled village. We were greeted by really helpful people and, although our room was small it was extremely comfortable and spotlessley clean. It would be dishonest to say that we did not suffer from some minor technical problems but the staff dealt wity them...
