The staff were great - but this was a £50 room (if that) and not £120. There were holes in the wall and specks of blood on the bathroom blind. Felt completely ripped off. Would never stay here again and would tell others never to stay here.

I was overall happy with my Bed Only stay at the Channings. The hotel was well located although car parking was a little problematic. The room was a little tired with, for example, a damp patch on the ceiling. The bed was also quite hard. My colleague and I utilised the bar for our evening meals; my colleague struggled to... More

Came for drinks and food during Saturday, had to wait an extremely long time for very sub-standard food (Upwards of 1h15). Bar was understaffed and kitchen couldn't cope with amount of orders going through. Blame surely lies with management. Avoid if possible

This isn't the first time I've had an unpleasant experience at this establishment.I was greeted by a charming young lady that was really polite and helpful, however on my return to the bar I was greeted by a different young lady that was very rude. She told me she would just be a second whilst I began my order. She... More

A very pleasant stay. Had a small, single room but that was fine for the time spent in there - en suite and bedroom were clean and comfortable. Food was good and staff were extremely helpful; especially bar staff who were friendly and went 'the extra mile'. Would stay here again. Only downside is that there is no car park;... More

Stayed here for one night due to business meeting near by.... Pub is very nicely decorated staff friendly and was made to feel very welcome, the rooms are a little dated and need some tlc. radiator was very noisy as well, overall this didn't deter or ruin the stay and would be happy to return in the future.

We had a late lunch in the restaurant greeted by a very friendly lady. The place was very clean and there's plenty of room. My husband had the flat bread I had a jacket potato and both were very nice arrived quickly. The gentleman at the pub and who also served us very friendly and polite would go back with... More

Having asked for a quiet room, we had to endure a night from hell, being directly above the raucous bar and beer garden. Sleep impossible ; had to open window as it was so stuffy, which let in even more noise from Bristol's finest. The room was small and tired. Being an old building, there was no soundproofing,so had to... More

Stayed here for one night as nearby to the place I was doing business with. Let's say I'm glad it was for one night. Staff were chatty and polite, but the room was cold as the single glazed window (also, to add, traffic facing) was drafty. Decor was needing a facelift. On the upside, the beers were great. Didn't try... More

This place really needs a shake up with new management and new kitchen staff. My wife went for a lunchtime snack because it was convenient to where she was. Big mistake. Firts the baked potato she ordered was uncooked. They offered a baguette and chips...the chips were uncooked. Really not worth trying again.. Go to Alma Tavern or Racks instead... More
