We stayed here for a two night break in February. The staff were professional and attentive, but also friendly. We stayed in the West Loft Suite. I seriously recommend this room. There are stunning views across the city in one direction and beautiful views over the park in the other. The free standing bath tub is huge, the lavatory and... More

We hve just stayed here for 3 nights in Room 1, as I was having an operation at the Spires Hospital. We run 5 star gold boutique accommodation in Essex, so I am very, very critical when we stay anywhere else, but this was really excellent from the first phone call when I arranged our booking. Room is huge, extremely... More

Just a fantastic little City Centre place to stay. Eclectic and chic, each room is different in this converted Townhouse. It's a relatively short walk to Clifton Village, and the suspension bridge, and there's lots of shops and restaurants on the nearby Whiteladies Road. We were in Bristol to see my daughter in Chicago, and ate in Clifton village. But... More

Aptly described as a' luxury town house accommodation', Number 38 ticked all the boxes. Staff couldn't be more helpful until 8pm after which we were told to call an out of hours number if required from the bedroom phone. Superior room 4 on the 1st floor at the front of the hotel was spacious & extremely comfortable. Views over the... More

Don't normally review - really good, better than hotel du vin & mal maison. Breakfast awesome, bed divine. Proper mini bar & refreshments. Fresh coffee, not filtered by the gallon. Room was spotless, no cheap shortcuts even down to thoughtful biscuits with the tea & coffee, not those hideous cheap tartan 10p shortbread. Very disappointed it was not a pleasure... More

A fantastic place to stay. The room was excellent with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. The whole place was spotlessly clean and well presented. I'd recommend the breakfast cooked from fresh, so took a little while, but used really good ingredients so was very tasty. I parked on the main road outside which wasn't a problem. I'll definitely go... More

Please make sure what room you are in before you book. Room no. 9 is very, very small - warm, nicely decorated, clean, lovely bed - but small! And no chairs. The staff were very friendly and pleasant, but had no local knowledge. We were offered breakfast in our room at no extra charge, but there was nowhere to sit to... More

Not cheap but worth it. Good view over the city roofline; tastefully-styled, thoughtfully kitted out room, quite small, but without that synthetic smell hotel rooms often have - we slept very well. Bathroom could do with a few more hooks. Lots of stairs. Very pleasant, hard-working staff member was serving breakfast and doing everything else, seemingly. We had a bit... More

Is this a hotel or a B&B? Well, I suppose truly the latter, but who cares? It is simply lovely. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts are great. Difficult to choose between the fruit compote (delicious) or the full English or the sausage sandwich! (And Mark LaForme's Vintage playing quietly in the background!) We had Room 4 which... More

Lovely welcome on arrival and escort to room. Rooms very good, with everthing you need (even a £25 bottle of wine if you ant to pay for it). Nice and warm, spotlessly clean and great views. We only had breakfast but it was very good. No parking but there was plenty of free on street parking outside when we were... More
