I honestly could not fault this place at all. The staff, service and the accomodation generally were all absolutely wonderful. I was here for a family wedding so didnt get to use the surrounding restaurants much (though the Cowshed was definitely worth a visit). It is more central than I was initially led to believe, Clifton main road is literally... More

A really lovely B&B in a wonderful location. Parking was a slight issue but we got lucky with a space just down the road. We stayed in the room at the very top of the house, and yes it was a bit expensive but it was worth it for a treat. The room was an absolute delight and is how... More

Great location and beautifully decorated throughout. Rooms are a good size, Roberts radio is a lovely touch and bathroom was nice + REN products! Breakfast was really good and the place is very tasteful and relaxed. Highly recommend, it really is a good base.

Lovely bright room. Stayed in the east loft room. Great views over both the Downs and Bristol. Room amenities were good. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. No lifts and we were on top floor. All rooms seem to have access via stairs. Tricky if you're disabled or very pregnant! Would come again and recommend!

A six storey Georgian merchant`s house with ten suites decorated in the modern way is in a lovely part of a very interesting city. The views from all the rooms either overlooked the city towards the southern tip of the Cotswolds Hills or the famous Clifton Downs. The beds and pillows are so comfortable that we could have slept on... More

Sadly, we only stayed here one night, but it was a delight. Quirky, tasteful room, wonderful bed, great bathroom and a really lovely cooked breakfast with very decent coffee. Had previously stayed at Hotel du Vin, which I loved, but this is its more intimate equal.

Stayed here for 2 nights over Easter - absolutely loved everything about it. the service, the rooms, the food, the view, the location... EVERYTHING Other than the parking being a slight pain (the council were painting yellow lines outside there the day we left) I cannot pick fault with any aspect of this place.

We stayed in one of the loft suites on the night of our wedding. The team were so helpful in letting us drop off our bags and pick up our keys early so we could let ourselves in after our wedding. The suite is incredible - everything from the copper bath to the white robes and huge sleigh bed meant... More

Number Thirty Eight is really superb. We checked in for a one night stay in March, as we were attending a friends 40th Birthday Party in Bristol. The bedroom was thoughtfully appointed, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was light, bright and very spacious and the little touches like the classic FM playing on the Roberts radio when you arrive in... More
