Decided to treat ourselves to a Friday night "away" in our home city. Had a Privilege Room on the top floor, facing out over the river and Bristol Bridge (shame the weather was typically Bristolian on this occasion though). Room was comfortable and well equipped. Nice bathroom with both bath and enclosed shower - all nicely finished. The shower itself... More

Stayed for one night in August on the way to Devon, the hotel is in a great location and worth a visit. Rooms are a little rough around the edges and need some TLC we upgraded to a superior room but it was not really worth the extra cost. Good service and overall nice stay

It's 6am and I've given up trying to sleep. I'm in room 312 and the bed is tiny (even though I went for "superior room river view") and my pillow is hard, rough and synthetic. The room is hot and airless and the window doesn't open more than a few inches. Woke up thirsty and reached for a bottle of... More

We stayed here for 1 night and was very impressed. Yes, there were a few negatives like a dead bulb in the ceiling lights, dirty marks on the in room mirrors, a little mould around the shower cubicle and a couple of cracked tiles in the bathroom but this is probably me being a little over picky. The hotel is... More

We stayed in this hotel for a reunion. The situation was perfect and parking easy. The room was plesent and breakfast was lovely. The meal we had together in the evening was very disappointing. I could not even eat my beef as it was so tough. I told the waiter at the time but nothing was done about it. We... More

We stayed in this hotel whilst attending a wedding nearby and couldn't fault the room, helpful nature of the staff and the breakfast. We had a river side room on the fifth floor which was quiet with the windows closed, if a little stuffy, with a view of branches and leaves and not much more at this time of year... More

Checked into the above hotel. Building is incredibly dated, service was like I had never experienced before - laughable. The beer, I tried 2 different types, was like water and the staff didn't even know what a Bloody Mary was!!! If you're thinking of a hotel in Bristol - don't pick this one!

Yep on arrival I was told I had been upgraded to a river view room..yey! But wait, there is no view, well technically there is... its just a tree completely blocking out anything else. The hotel itself is very convenient for central Bristol, however parking is very expensive £20 at nearby NCP. The room is fine but the TV is... More

This hotel was in a very good location and you know what you are getting from a Mercure hotel. We were is a standard room and I thought that it was very small for the price that we paid. It is clearly designed for business people and the room was set up for one person i.e. only 1 biscuit provided... More
