This was, without question, the worst hotel experience in recent memory. What's up with the positive reviews? It's hard to miss the big problems here: the elevator, stairwell and corridors smell terrible-- like a toilet. The room we were given smelled like smoke and was not improved by airing. When we reported a security issue (the balcony door, extending onto... more

I have stayed at the Mercure Bristow before and have recently returned from a 2 night stay with my wife, a shopping trip. The hotel, in my opinion has been always good in all areas. It is easy to find, driving from the motorway, The hotel itself has a good feel, all areas are well maintained , trendy, attractive and... more

A good central location, although had to pay for parking in nearby multi storey. Unhelpful reception staff and slow check in. There was apparently some kind of problem with the room we had been allocated so we had no choice but to have a smoking room instead. Apart from the smell the room was ok, but quite noisy late on... more

The location of this hotel is very good and the rooms of the hotel are very stylish. BUT: I've never been in such a dirty room! Especially not in hotels of that price class. I don't know if that room has been cleaned at all! The bathroom and especially the toilet have been awfully dirty! On the glasses in the... more

Suberb location, efficient check in, clean and comfortable room overlooking the canal waterfront. Particularly impressed with the spacious and well equipped bathroom. All a little spoilt by the slow arrival of the cooked breakfast. Even more frustrating because the restaurant staff were so efficient. The long wait was summed up by an adjacent diner who remarked 'I was about to... more

I have stayed at circa 8 hotels in central Bristol for buisness and this is without fail the best! Loved the location right on river, excellent staff, modern rooms - wooden floors and even tile TV in the btahrooms! Good breakfast...will return! more

We'd booked a room with a river view and at check in, asked for and got one with a balcony as well! A great start to a relaxing stay. The hotel is situated next to the river, with plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance - leave the car in the NCP and explore Bristol on foot! Our... more

This hotel had a really good Easter deal so my partner and I used the existing reviews to make our decision to stay here for the bank holiday. We parked in the NCP with no problems and were given very helpful advice on checking in on how to save money for parking. We were given a validated ticket for the... more
