The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's in a really nice area close to the zoo, the downs and lots of good shops and resturants. The hotel is nicely decorated, though our room (on the top floor) was very small. We also had no view as there strangely seemed to be a brick wall built in front... more

I stayed here for 1 night, as I had to take an early flight next morning at Bristol Airport. Receptionist greeting was good and helpful. This is what in The US would be called a boutique hotel. Old hotel but very modern + stylish inside. My room was adequate size, small TV with 16 channels, welcome sherry + fruit bowl,... more

I'm a big fan of this hotel and have written a review before. But this time I encountered a problem which one or two others have mentioned as well. For the first time at the Berkley ( and I reckon I have stayed there 3 or 4 times a year for the last 8 years) I had a noise problem.... more

In general, I am not a great fan of UK hotels as I have often found them to be over-priced and under-performing. The Berkeley Square, however, is a welcome exception. Funnily enough, the place used to be the home of the Women's Institute, now converted into an ever so slightly quirky hotel. As other contributors have already noted, there are... more

I called the hotel directly to book a room and the receptionist was so helpful, friendly and efficient. In fact before I arrived I received a phone call to check the details of my booking-excellent! I only stayed one night but I will definitely return-the hotel is truly individual-incredibly friendly, helpful and professional staff. The decor in the bar area,... more

We loved this place! The room was large and comfortable. We were provided comlementary tea, coffee and (good!) sherry. The staff went out of thier way to provide outstanding service and the restaurant was top notch. Don't miss! more

My wife and I stayed here one friday in March. We had requested a quiet room and were given a pleasant first floor room overlooking the quiet square. Whilst the room was a little small it was very well fitted out (CD, DVD, Bar, real coffee, comp sherry etc). The bathroom was again a little on the small side and... more

This unusual and quirky hotel was a Late Rooms bargain at £88 bed only for one night. Charming and helpful check in staff. Parking is £5 in their garage and not bookable in advance - so get there early, otherwise you are on meters patrolled by fierce wardens! Room was small but well equipped - with loose leaf tea, ground... more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks whilst on a residential course in Bristol. The room was nice and clean, though very small, and the complimentary sherry was certainly a nice touch (hic!). It's also in a superb location. So why only 3 out of 5? Well, the hotel owns(?) a nightclub which is in the basement of the... more

I found the Bekeley Square Hotel very nice indeed. Rooms are nice and modern, I stayed in a double which was a decent size, The bathrooms however are very small and in need of refurbishment. The room is well equiped with tv/dvd, sherry, fruit etc. I had room service which was very nice and the breakfast is also good, the... more
