Having read many good reviews of this hotel, we booked with confidence. But we were quite disappointed. Not sure if the hotel is 4 or 3 star. We think it's the latter, and if so, the price is a bit much. We had a refurbished room 342. The view was half the buidling's wall, and walls of the other wings.... more

I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel - being waited on instead of doing the waiting, as I run a small B &B in Northumberland. Well, it was a disappointment from start to finish. The first room we were shown was not what we had booked - a double instead of twin. I was relieved as the... more

We have just stayed two nights at the Grand, and were very impressed by the staff, they were very helpful and friendly. Like a previous reviewer, our stay was almost entirely funded by Tesco vouchers, which made it a "cheap" stay. Our rooms- one King Size, and one Family room- were very spacious, and the addition of a room safe... more

It's the year 2009 and you'd think by now humans would be able to create hotels with walls thicker than polyboard. We stayed in a "refurbished room" for £130. You would thing the 'ed' at the end of 'refurbished' would mean the room was finished all nice and new. It was to a degree but the things that are supposed... more

We stayed here using Tesco clubcard vouchers and we had a great time. We took our 14 month old boy with us and had booked a family room with Breakfast £108 per night. The room was on the 3rd floor and had recently been refurbished and it was great. Plasma TV, huge comfy bed, plenty of room for the travel... more

This hotel is great for being in the heart of the city and close to all the main attractions, which is the main reason we choose it. When checking in, make sure you ask for a quiet room, especially on a weekend, as they often have large functions, keeping you awak until the early hours. Rooms are small but functional,... more

My fiancé and I visited the hotel for a one night stay as we passed through Bristol, and found it very enjoyable, especially as we had been expecting worse from some of the reviews here. Our travel arrangements meant we arrived late, at 9pm, with only 15 minutes left before the restaurant closed, and we had paid for dinner in... more

We booked a Delux room at The Grand (Thistle) using our Tesco vouchers. 1. The dedicated car park was large and secure 2.. The location was central so we had no need to use the car all weekend 3. We arrived at 10am and were given a room straight away - most unexpected. 4.The room was clean, large, quiet and... more

I had heard good things about this hotel. A number of my colleagues have stayed there and liked it. I think the location was what they liked most, and that at least is very good. It's very near the restaurants and bars of Corn Street, the beautiful harbour and Broadmead Shopping Centre. It's also not too far from Temple Meads... more
