Paid £48 in advance on the hotel chain website for a Friday night stay booking 3 rooms for friends and myself. Check-in was fast and the staff courteous and helpful. Request for quiet rooms followed; in addition upgraded to executive rooms (as platinum member of Priority Club). Rooms good size, clean, well appointed = iron+board, safe, water, complimentary bath products,... more

Arrived for a conference the night before and the service was appaling. I had some boxes couriered over for 9am that morning and the person at recpeiton said they had not arrived (did not even look- her nails were more important). I went to their business centre and asked them and the guy on the desk was too busy talking... more

My wife and I stayed at the HI Bristol for a short break. We were going to Bath, but all the hotels were busy and this was the nearest. We went to Bath one day and Bristol centre in the evening, and Western Super mare the next day. The hotel is very central and easy to get around to different... more

We stayed over the Easter week-end. We had stayed here a few years ago and exoerinced problems with overcharging and general disorganisation in the restauranrs. I'm pleassed to say that this time it was well organised and efficient. Check-in was fast and the staff courteous and helpful. We upgraded to an executive room. Although it didn't seem a great deal... more

I stayed here with a colleague last week, pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, well presented and better inside than it looks outside. The location isn't perfect but with 2 restaurants to choose from, we were perfectly happy there. With "English" food in the main hotel restaurant and Oriental food in the "Sampans" restaurant. The only reservation there I have, is... more

I stayed in this Hotel for almost 2 weeks and the overall appearance of the Hotel was good. The location isn't great but was convenient for me to go to the office that I had to work in. Rooms are quiet and clean beds and pillows were comfortable. I am very picky in that sense and had no issues there.... more

Splendid hotel. Superb staff. Obviously a popular place and its easy to see why. However there is a 'thread of greed' woven into a couple of things that need to be given attention by the owners. First there is a 10% service charge added to most things that have to do with the provision of food and drink. Its called... more

After paying an extortionate price for a room (the cost of booking too late so that other hotels were fully booked), I expected the service to be at least resonable. The receptionists were all foreign (Polish?) and hard to understand, and treated all the guests as if they were kids - is it hotel policy to patronise their guests? I... more

Stayed at the hotel for two weeks in Ocober 2008. Found that the check-in process was slow, the staff dont really speak english, the food's slow and a bit rubbish and, worst of all, that they have bed bugs. the hotel is far from the city so you're kinda forced to live with what they have to offer. the gym... more
