Booked the private dining room for a family lunch to celebrate a birthday. Room was beautiful, the food was lovely and the staff couldn't have been nicer- in fact a perfect venue and perfect day. We would definitely go back - and hopefully stay over in one of the beautiful bedrooms next time!

To be honest, was not sure what to expect. The perfect secluded hideaway. We stayed for two nights, arrived late Friday evening. The drive into the hotel made all the more secret, you could imagine the horse drawn carriages in years gone past. We were greeted by a lovely young lady, who should us to our room. It was amazing,... More

Just in case you are struggling the heading is from Lydia the Tattooed Lady from both The Philadelphia Story and (better for me sung by the beautiful genius Robin Williams) The Fisher King. I had the unbridled pleasure of staying in room "Lydia" at this very very comfortable restaurant with rooms this week and whilst I am no fan of... More

Just stayed 1 night in the Troya Deluxe Suite. Got shown to the room and was bowled over by the bed. Check out my pictures. The room was fabulously opulent. The furniture was beautiful and the bathroom was bigger than my own bedroom. The bathroom was amazing too. I arrived at 1am and left at 9am so didn't really explore... More

Troya is totally mad isn't it! I'm aware there are areas on the walls that need improving, as you say it's just hard to keep on top of in an old house. All part of the long term plan though so thanks for bringing it to my attention again! The bed situation is a tricky one as guests seem to... More

My wife and I had our wedding reception at Berwick Lodge last Saturday (13th September) and would just like to say that Berwick Lodge was the perfect choice for us. We had about nearly 80 guests for the wedding breakfast and a further 60 guests for the evening reception, which was probably ideal for the size of the hotel. We... More

Really nice boutique hotel with lovely ambiance, interesting furniture, gorgeous grounds, great service and delicious food. Room was very clean and comfortable - we had a great view of Bristol and the grounds/fountain. Nice art dotted around the garden. The sitting room and the dining room are both great. Good selection of wine, just all around wonderful. We met a... More

Sorry this can’t be a short review... so much to say We very recently had our wedding at Berwick Lodge and we were so glad we decided to. Right from the first time we went to look around we knew instantly that this was the place for us. The first meeting we had set the tone for the whole process...Friendly... More

The Berwick Lodge is becoming my go-to hotel when I'm working in Bristol, despite a half hour trek into the town centre. I was fascinated by the description on the web site as "Arts and Crafts with a touch of the East". Not surprisingly I was expecting Charles Rennie Macintosh meets Fin de Sicle Japanese. In reality this is a... More

Thanks for reviewing RC_RIS. We're crazy about you too! An absolute pleasure to hear of such an enjoyable stay! The touches of the East are a result of my husband's native Turkish style which as you noticed, are dotted around the hotel. We'd love to have you back to sample dinner sometime. Sarah More

We went for champagne afternoon tea and I couldn't have asked for anymore. I thought it was really reasonably priced in comparison to other afternoon teas I've had. I treated my mum and sister before they went back to school and work. There was a lovely selection of cakes with a great variety. Service was attentive and were made to... More

The Berwick lodge hotel is out of the way with lovely grounds and an excellent venue for a wedding. The food was delicious and the service was good. One moan has to come from the costs of the drinks from the bar - to be charged £3.50 for a pint of lime and soda for my child was extortionate to... More

Thanks for reviewing and your comments on the price of your child's drink. Drink prices are reviewed regularly with competitors and take into the account the surroundings and overall experience. A long glass of lime and soda is £2.50 and on reflection of your comments and further research, I've reviewed the price of a pint and brought it down from... More
