We stayed here for one night and wouldn't come back. Someone had come in to our room during the day as the TV was on and all the windows open when we arrived back that night. The dining room didn't have enough space to seat the guests staying in the building and there were 4 slices of ham and 6... More

Management response:

All our rooms are thoroughly cleaned and serviced daily - during very hot weather we also ask our staff and clients to leave upper floor windows slightly open, to allow for air flow, and ensure a better temperature in the rooms. Our breakfast room will seat over two thirds of our guests at any one time, it is rare for... More

This was my first visit to Bristol and on a budget decided to choose a B&B. The decision was the right one and the choice of accommodation was spot on. Clean, spacious, quiet and undoubtedly well located for exploring this vibrant historical city. My room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped with modern facilities. I will surely be booking... More

Stayed here as part of a group booking with ten other men in their 30's. We were very well behaved but the owner refused to give some of our deposit back as she stated that another room had complained about the noise coming from our room. We know that this noise was not us, as we made a conscious effort... More

Management response:

We rarely withhold deposits but there were complaints from several other guests about the noise levels coming from the group when they returned to the Guest Rooms relatively late in the evening. Late night noise is something we try to keep to a minimum, for the comfort of all our guests. We are aware people come to have a break,... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Whitehouse and it was cheap and central, but the area is pretty grotty. We didn't know the city and the most upmarket place we could find to eat within easy walking distance, apart from chippies and kebab shops, was MacDonalds! The guest house itself is very clean and the bed was comfy, but the... More

The review by ThatRoger nicely summed up our one night stay. The walk to the city centre for us was nearer 10-15 minutes. There is a handily placed locals estate pub within 100 yards with a good range of ales.

All we needed was a bed for a couple of nights and a bite to eat to start the day. What we got was definitely above average from the "Charmin" toilet paper in the well designed, spacious bathroom; to the hooks on the backs of the bedroom and bathroom doors; large, comfy, warm beds; continental breakfast to rival 3* European...
