Old English pub with plenty of original features. Worth stopping for a meal, if just passing, camping nearby or attending any event at Ashton Court. (short walk from Church Lodge Entrance in Ashton Court Road). Friendly bar staff. Outside courtyard. Delicious food and if served with a salad, you won’t find soggy lettuce here; it’s crisp and fresh plus a... More

We visited The Angel Inn on an early Saturday evening. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Becky couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious and homemade and served really quickly. The pub itself was lively and had a really pleasant feel. Will definitely make a return visit when over in Bristol again.

Arriving here with some friends in the early evening, we sat and enjoyed a few drinks in the early summer sunshine before placing an order at the bar, which seemed to take forever. Whether it be that the staff was new, or simply slow - this process took well over 25 minutes! As a result, our food arrived in the... More

We stopped at this pub after a long walk for a drink and a spot of lunch. Their outside area was a suntrap with a really great atmosphere and the food was excellent. I had a chicken sandwich, which doesn't sound like much but when it arrived the chicken was still warm, tender and juicy and had been honey roasted.... More

I booked the last room available, which was a single with a pull out bed. I said there would be 2 of us staying when I booked over the phone. When we got there, the room was only set up for one, and the pull out bed had dirty sheets on. There was one small very dirty towel in the... More

The Angel is in a fantastic location, and has huge character. It is a longstanding village pub with plenty of history and a "centre of the universe" feel to it. However, the current management and staff don't seem to understand the meaning of the word " hospitality". On a Saturday night at around 10.30, the staff are desperate to get... More

I found this pub/bed & breakfast on a late bookings website. The description appeared none too bad. In reality the pub/bar was very tired looking and quite run down and the room slightly dark and unwelcoming. The food was distinctly low in quality - fish and chips that were hot but not particularly tasty or well presented. Beer was reasonable... More

I stayed here for one night with my two children and was pleasantly surprised. The room was large, comfortable and full of character, as well as very well kitted out with nice little touches like good quality toiletries, nice biscuits and thick, fluffy blankets on top of all the beds, which I'd not expected for the price I paid. The... More

We stayed a couple of nights in a lovely room overlooking the courtyard. Incredibly this carpets made you feel like you were walking on air (or perhaps the floor joists just had a lot of give!). Did not have an evening meal but had breakfast both mornings (extra charge) that was well cooked and filling. Parking is in a quite... More

Fantastic 16th century coaching inn full of history and very comfortable. We had a beautiful room overlooking the courtyard. Only stayed overnight, but after a long drive, everything worked had a shower ate and then went out. The food was good and reasonably priced the room and bed was comfortable and we slept really well. Breakfast was lovely too, the... More
