This new and quiet Ibis is probably the best positioned hotel for travellers arriving at Temple Meads - being both close yet quietly tucked away. A short walk from the main station concourse across a new metal bridge brings to you the hotel in five minutes. There is much building work going on in the area at present, but this... more

I would not recommend this hotel. After a long journey to Bristol, I just wanted to check in and have a shower. 45 minutes later I was still trying to check in as the staff advised our rooms had been allocated (there were 3 of us). It turns out the rooms were there but they had changed all the names... more

This is absoulutely the worst hotel I ever stayed in that was not in a third world country. Imagine a cross between a basic business hotel and a hostel, minus any sense of the atmosphere and adventure you would get in a hostel. To top it off, the staff are untrained and very rude. Not recommended. more

Only a 5 min walk from Temple Meads, this Ibis hotel is only about a year old. As expected then, all the rooms are still looking new. If you get a front facing room you will get a good view of the trains and some building work. The back of the hotel is quieter and darker thanks to some empty... more

Just a few steps away from Temple Meads station, this hotel offers modern rooms at bargain prices. Fitted with the latest style Ibis furnishings, it has a (to me) unappealing mass-production look and feel. I stayed at a new Ibis in Istanbul earlier this year and it's impossible to tell the difference. Then again, at least you know what you're... more

We stayed here because of it's close proximity to Temple Meads station. To start with we had a corner room on the top floor, which was pleasant enough for a cheap hotel chain, but it was far too warm, and the window could only be opened about 3 inches, the benefit of this was lost once you shut the curtains!!... more

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Check-in was smooth and the lady informed me of all the necessities (food serving times, location of bar/restaurant). The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from the station and not too far from the shops in the centre of town. Nothing much happening outside the hotel, but there was a pub and a... more

I think this was supposed to be a bargain hotel, but the problems made any £ savings a mere hopeful thought. The parking is non existent, you have to park over behind the train station (note, BEHIND the station, not in front, which is 20 minute parking - forewarned is forearmed!) The internet is £10, premium TV is extra, too.... more

Aug 10, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

I just returned from a two-day trip to Bristol, and stayed at Ibis Temple Meads with my friend. The hotel is perfectly situated for people using public transport to get to the city from the airport, as the airport bus stops at Temple Meads station, which is just a five-minute walk to the hotel. Our room was very clean, larger... more
