We stayed for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago with our two young boys. Before arriving staff were helpful, advising on cheap parking nearby. However, the staff actually on the desk didn't seem the usual friendly people we usually see on our YHA visits. Bit abrupt, definitely not chatty. Our 4-bed room was on the 4th floor and met... I've been a YHA Life Member for just gone ten years now, and stayed at YHA Bristol four of five times over that period. My last two night stop over was on a Sunday and Monday night, so relatively 'quiet' nights I guess (but all nights in August I guess are pretty busy city-type nights, given the holiday season AND... Only minutes from the train station Temple Meads an seconds (!!!) from the hot spots of this city (aquarium, shopping center, places of interest, trendy restaurants, museums...). we will come again...

Today Saturday, 8 August was the first real day of summer so far as I'm concerned and people were out in Bristol in force not to mention those going along to the balloon Festival. Downstairs by the reception there is a rather neat bar serving a limited service of food and quite a good range of bottled drinks but no... More

Great hostel right on the dock front. Includes a cheap bar serving soft and alcoholic drinks and food. Central location for the train station and attractions. Cheap stay nice rooms and clean bathroom facilities. Sadly you cannot pick the people who share your room but never mind.

I haven't stayed at a hostel in a long long time, so when chosen lodgings for a friends stag I was a little jubious.. Fears aside upon arrival when greated by a friendly and accommodating team. Rooms were what you would expect from a four person bunk in a hostel... minimal bedding (thin pillow that needed doubling over) and a... More

I visited here with my friend for 2 nights and we shared a private ensuite room, paying for breakfasts as well. On arrival, we found that we had been allocated a disabled room which had a pleasantly large bedroom and large ensuite. We had bunk beds (a double on the bottom, a single on top) solidly made. There were no... More

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the accommodation. Staff friendly and beer cheap. Also very good location! Shower was abit rough. Was like being sprayed with a hot hose!! Breakfast also wasn't the best to look at. All very cheap thou.

My only complaint with this hostel is the bathrooms. The showers were nice and big, but there was no shower curtain to keep your stuff dry, not even a hook on the door. I had to put the towel and clothes in a plastic bag and hang it off of the corner of the door to keep it all dry... More

The hostel is located near to the Hippodrome on the water. Parking is very limited in the area however there is overnight parking at Trenchard Street where it costs 4 pounds overnight which is quite cheap. My cousin and I shared a twin room. Though it was very tiny, it was clean, tidy with fresh linen, an overhead light and... More

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Parking can be tricky given our central location - great tip on parking at Trenchard Street - parking is also available at the M-Shed, this is also good value at £3 a night and is slightly closer, just a couple of minutes walk. We look... More
