We stayed at this hotel for two nights on their Summer package which includes bed and breakfast (not hot dishes), one dinner in the bar, one in the restaurant and tickets for entrance to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. We lived in the Peak District for many years and have eaten at the hotel before but never stayed there until now.... More

First time at the Peacock and we were celebrating a birthday. Lovely old building, tastefully decorated. Peter our host was excellent, he was knowledgeable and attentive to our every need. Very impressive young man that knows his stuff. In fact all of the staff at the peacock were excellent too. It was pricy but in the same way good value!... More

We visited today for the first time for lunch. We were very warmly welcomed and immediately offered tea / coffee which came accompanied by huge shortcake biscuits, delicious. There was a good menu which offered a lighter choice of half sized main course with normal starters and deserts. Absolutely perfect for lunch. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful.... More

Booked a sunday night DB&B one double room and a large single both with views of the garden to avoid noise from the road. i have to say that we all found the hotel furnishings to be very tired in most places and is definitely overdue a refurb! Had pre-dinner drinks in the garden on the terrace.....which quite honestly could... More

The hotel is ideally situated for visiting Chats worth. The welcome on arrival & service throughout was exemplary and everyone was warm friendly and attentive. The food whether is was breakfast, bar meal or restaurant supper was excellent and exceeded expectations. The only blot on an otherwise enjoyable stay was the plain, small, tired and dowdy room. Furnishings were poor,... More

The Peacock is a very comfortable and well presented country hotel. The welcome was warm and friendly and our room (6) was nicely appointed. You do get some road noise but didn't put us off. The real star though is the restaurant. Our evening meal was fantastic and the quality of food was as good as we have ever experienced.... More

Stayed 2 nights here when the weather was baking hot and it was really lovely. The hotel is old and quaint, the staff are super polite and helpful, and the food in both the bar and restaurant were very good indeed. My room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean - there's no cause for complaint here at all. A lovely... More

We arrived around 4pm just as, unfortunately, a large party departed. This meant there was no one on the reception to greet us for several minutes which alarmed us somewhat (wondering what the attention for the rest of our stay was going to be like). We needn't have worried as all the staff were very pleasant and attended to our... More
