We stayed at The Peacock for 2 nights in early July 2014 having promised ourselves a treat there for the last few years and wanting to see the Derbyshire Dales , Chatsworth , Haddon Hall etc Firstly on a positive note the food ( one night Bar Menu - but as good as the fine dining - and one night... This is a very pleasant hotel in a lovely area with great walks nearby. The food is overall very good but we were disappointed by some other aspects of the hotel. This is an expensive hotel at £320 for dinner bed and breakfast on a weekend night in July. Imagine our surprise to find that that at breakfast the menu... More

Stayed here for two nights with my husband and loved it. Really relaxed feel to the whole place. Had dinner on Friday night and as hotel guests didn't need to confirm a time for dinner which was lovely as our whole weekend was about playing things by ear. Food was great with really interesting dishes throughout the menu, it was... More

OK. The Peacock is not cheap but my goodness, it's good. We stayed for three nights. Room was lovely. Location fantastic. Service exemplary. Food outstanding. We'll be back - and with so many amazing places to stay in the UK and the rest of the world, that's unusual for us. Recommended, but my tip? Check out their website for deals.... More

I regularly visit the Cologne area of Germany on business and admire the standard of restaurants and hotels over there, so when two of my colleagues from Cologne decided to come to Rotherham for a sales meeting I needed to find an equally impressive venue. Fortunately I chose The Peacock and gave them a real taste of how we can... More

A fabulously welcoming hotel offering fly fishing on the Haddon Hall Estate waters. Fishing women made very welcome. The river guide was courteous, knowledgable and fun. The food is amazing, the beds very comfortable and the whole experience relaxing. A perfect country hotel experience. Thank you Jenni Mackenzie and Bernie Maher.

This is a well located hotel in the middle of the Peak District well located for visiting nearby Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. It is located in an old stone medieval building in the nice Derbyshire village of Rowsley. It has been well restored and offers good accommodation and nice modern decor complementing the old building but and it is a... More

If you want to be in the heart of the Peak District then The Peacock, Rowsley fits the bill. A comfortable place to stay with excellent food, if a little of the pricey side, The Peacock makes an impresion from the moment you walk through the door. In good weather the gardens and river close by are good for gaining... More

I have just stayed for a night with my sister. It is the best hotel experience I have ever had. All the staff were attentive and professional but discreet. The hotel is beautiful and the decor is classy. Everything was immaculate. We enjoyed the chick flicks chosen from the enormous DVD library! A perfect break.

The venue is lovely, but the staff and service is pompous and pretentious. Given the extortionate prices they charge for food, it is tasty, but the the flexibility and customer service is terrible. I would not recommend this place.
