8 rooms, very spacious and well maintained. Friendly atmosphere, good food and good prices. As a B&B can't beat the price £55 for single person in double room. Good base for Peak District. Will return.

Spent a few days cycling in this area, and stayed at this accommodation. It was very nice, and the staff and the Manager made us very welcome. The rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable and excellent value for money. Had an evening meal and the food was excellent and it was nice to think you did not have... More

Sunday evening is a night when several places are shut so we were pleased to find this large pub open and willing to serve us as they were close to closing kitchen. But the food, from a very long menu aiming to cater for everyone was disappointing, standard ping food. How else could a menu allow 4 of us to... More

Just spent a couple of days in the Peak District and stayed here overnight. Manager, John, was very friendly and obviously proud of his accommodation. Rooms were well decorated, clean and tidy, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and for breakfast. There was a very varied menu in the... More

This place is not as good as it was, but it is okay for pub grub. I had the battered red fish for starters, which was good as were my faggits (I know this is spelt wrong but Trip Advisor wont let me spell it properly as they see it as a profanity - idiots), but my husband was disappointed... More

This is the first time we have stayed at a Marstons Inn, all that I knew was that it was part of a "budget chain". Arrived at 15:30 on a sunny Saturday, the first of 2013. The place was very busy but the 'Welcome' was superb. The guy insisted on carrying my wife's luggage to the room, the explanation /... More

After reading some reviews for the Grouse & Claret we were expecting a nice hotel but not great food, but honestly I don't know what people were complaining about? The food was excellent and definitely not packaged and microwaved. The specials were numerous and the desserts to die for. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, and... More

The atmosphere was pleasant and so were the staff- our visit was a Tuesday lunch time and a lot of the tables were occupied. It was nice to receive a complimentary dish of tortilla chips and dip while we waited for our food (just a shame the dip was in a plastic pot). The food however was pretty average- typical... More
