Jodie and Steve's warmth and attentiveness made our stay too short, but we'll be back. They poured us recommended wines and shared amazing stories until far too late, went out of their way constantly to provide every comfort, the restaurant was unbelievable, breakfast perfect and the whole place felt like a very dear fun-loving close friend's home. Best duck I've... More

Our stay here was too short - 3 nights and 4 days of skiing at Perisher were just not enough to experience it fully. The staff are super friendly and the food as part of our package was incredible! Hearty portion sizes and amazing matched wines. We lost power one night due to high winds and the staff rewarded us... More

This is a smallish guesthouse in a good location - close to the Ski tube (ten minutes) and in a nice natural setting away from the rather ordinary town of Jindabyne. The restaurant was excellent (we had a vegetarian meal). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Eclectic art pieces added to the charm. Overall a nice place to stay as... More

This Alpine Farm, nestled on the Alpine Way with easy access to Thredbo and Perisher (via the SkiTube) is absolute gold! The comfy, alpine styled bedrooms with pristine white linen were a sight for sore eyes after a tiring drive through the afternoon and resulted in a good nights sleep. The communal lounge area has been thoughtfully presented with relaxation... More

We stayed for two nights, arrived late on Friday evening after driving down from Canberra to ski for the weekend. Greeted warmly and shown around the guesthouse, we settled into our room and slept in the most comfortable bed. The guesthouse is limited to only 6 rooms for guests, so it is quite exclusive. Breakfast was made to order and... More

This place is warm and friendly. You can easily relax here after a hard day of skiing. Great dinner menu and the made to order breakfasts were excellent. The room was comfortable and the shower was hot, with excellent water pressure.... just what you need after skiing. We loved it and would highly recommend this place to our friends. Crackenback... We stayed at Crackenback Farm Guesthouse for one night over Easter. We were welcomed warmly when we arrived, and invited to dine at the restaurant (which was incredibly fantastic). The rooms were basic, but the beds were really wonderful and soft, with a nice fluffy doona. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the rooms was a bit disappointing. There was a brown... More

This place is very personal. The staff Paul and Jodie were great . The rooms are small with a queen bed and a loft for the three boys. The food is the standout at the farmhouse. Very cosy in front of the fire with a wine while the kids watch some TV in the room.

On a recent trip to the Snowies, we were very impressed with the hospitality and attention to detail that we experienced at Crackenback Farm. I found the actual building designed by the famous Glen Murcutt particularly interesting, with it's clever use of timber, stone and glass. There is a cosy lounge area with a large open fireplace and with comfortable sofas,... We enjoyed our stay very much! The owners were wonderful and very welcoming. They could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. The made sure we had everything we needed to climb the mountain and lent us a backpack. We had a great night of cards in the bar! The food was outstanding and as new owners they are... More
