I have been going to Elam for 50 years, just to get away from city life, my kids and now my grandkids are going there, my wife likes to cook on the campstoves that were built in the 20's rangers said that as they brake-up they will get rid of them, I have been rebuilding them for over25 years, there... This campground is pretty basic, and is NOT a good place for tent campers. The sites are tiny, so you will want to go to Potato Patch campground if you are tent camping. My wife and I took our 9 month old camping this summer to Elam campground right off Highway 32. This is a great little campground maintained by the National Forrest Service. It is a fairly undeveloped campground. Facilities only include garbage dumpsters, pit toilets and a hand pump for water, but the campground is paved, so it is not diffucult... More
