The place has had a makeover and is comfortable, clean and hospitable. The staff are great and friendly and the food is very good too. We go back there on a regular basis. On a Saturday night you sometimes get a male voice choir singing acapella in the bar and its worth a visit for that as they are very... More

This is a traditional two hundred year old pub in a nice village with the advantage of an even older pub opposite (so there's always something to do in an evening). The rooms were a bit tired but nice and clean. No reception on the TV though. The breakfast was very good and the price was excellent. I'd be happy... More

We saw one price online and called to reserve. When we arrived, they told us a different price. We refused to pay the increase and were denied breakfast as a result. The accommodation was okay at best. We were in a room where there was a window in the shower looking over a fire escape - that was frequently used... More

Wow, this is a little gem. Popped in for a evening meal ended up coming back for sunday lunch. Plenty of parking, loads of tables inside (does get busy on a sunday so I would book) - food is excellent, hot fresh and served quickly. If you are passing through the valley pop in, you won't be disappointed.

This is a traditional village pub so don't expect posh decor and fancy cocktails that many pubs have become. Had evening meal and drinks here 2 nights on the run as staying in a local B&B. Good choice of meals and specials available. Portion sizes were huge and great value for money. For 4 main meals and 4 drinks (alcohol)... More

Not sure the person who said "struggling to be average" has the right pub! This is a traditional welsh country pub not a city wine bar. It has always been spotlessly clean whenever I have visited. The pub is renowned for it's great food and generous portions. Sunday lunch is to die for and very reasonably priced. Locals are very... More

Just returned home from a lovely weekend in Llangynog to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. My bedroom (room 2) was very clean and the double bed (just me in it) was so comfy. The dinner last night was absolutely delicious, vegetable lasagne. jacket potato and salad. Breakfast was equally as good. Couldn't fault. Staff very friendly and helpful. A bit... More

Visited twice during a short break & had evening meals and a drink. Despite a trendy looking area as you enter the whole place is very grubby & unkempt, even a bit dirty in places - it's also very dark as if it has something to hide. Food is edible but overpriced & below average. Overall the pub needs to... More
