We came here for an early meal and the service was friendly and efficient. It was a very nice place with lovely views. The interior was very nice and the lounge looked very comfortable. There was a standard menu and lots of specials. The fish and chips was very good and the liver was excellent. The steak was good but... More

We were visiting the area of Hadrian's Wall in June. The Hadrian was recommended to us as a place to eat. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was charming, typical of an English country pub. We would certainly go back, perhaps even to stay there.

Me and 7 mates stopped here for the night of our 2nd days walking of Hadrians Wall. One of our party took a taxi ahead to this pub and arranged for loads of sandwiches to be available for the main parties arrival. The staff were happy to do this. Bar stayed open till 23:30 hrs (much to the groups delight... More

As other reviews point out, the rooms at the Hadrian Hotel are a bit dated but they are spacious and comfortable enough - and in some ways an improvement on the standard modern room in a chain hotel. The staff were really friendly. My Goan chicken curry was outstanding (the chef's speciality) and we all enjoyed our meals in the... More

We have been here a number of times and always enjoyed our meals. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Certainly the public rooms are ready for refurbishment but we will certainly return refurbished or not.

A disappointment! The room was dated and basic, the bathroom was shared, there was no sink in the toilet, only in with the bath! Not ideal. We stayed as we were walking Hadrian's Wall, it was NOT worth £50 for a room. It was the best breakfast and the dinner and ale selection were brilliant, but the rooms didn't lock... More

Staff are the best thing about this hotel - they are wonderfully friendly - as are the woodlice! Also dirty glasses at the bar, wonky shelves and a hair in my (otherwise lovely) food. The area is beautiful and picture perfect countryside with ample off street parking and a nice garden.

We were in the Acomb , Wall area west of HexhamI This hotel is a little dated but is clean and tidy with a nice garden for the summer. They have a specials board and a traditional menu. Our meals came freshly cooked and well presented. They were thoroughly enjoyed and well worth the money paid. The staff are very... More

Wonderful hotel! Stayed here for 2 nights. We booked it very last minute but decided to take a gamble based on the favourable reviews and the reasonable room rates. The staff were great, really friendly and welcoming. When we said we had to leave early the next day before breakfast they made us sandwiches for our long drive. We ate... More

A quaint little hotel, we found the food excellent, wide choice of mains and deserts. Good place to relax after a day's sightseeing Hadrians Wall. Staff very friendly and able to offer advice. Made to feel very welcome. Looking forward to next visit
