A friend apparently had a good experience here but they must have been easily pleased I guess. We booked two nights but I had a bad feeling within five minutes of entering the room and finding dog hair on my pillow( I'm asthmatic )but the rest of the room was clean or so I thought until I got in the... Great location in the rolling hills above Kirkby Steven. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent which we ate by the lovely coal fire. Excellent choice of dishes. I had the lamb (of course) - delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming

An eye-catching advert in The Oldie magazine brought us back to the Fat Lamb after a 25 year break and we weren't disappointed. It is what it says it is 'a country Inn'. It is a bit off the beaten track, unpretentious, quiet with friendly, helpful staff. Our room was clean and certainly big enough for a couple of night's... More

We spent a two night break here and enjoyed our stay although we did have a few negatives. The room was very small and the bed uncomfortable. The shower was extremely hot and we were unable to turn it down, presuming the thermostat was faulty. On the plus side the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and the staff... More

Two nights stay in September. A nice enough inn, maybe a bit tired in places (dining room), we had a comfortable room, nice food. On getting up the first morning we found no hot water, (and no apology) and no toilet roll. No dishes for the breakfast buffet cereal, and apparently I had the last mint tea bag the night... More

We have been here before a year ago, but called in fro lunch last Saturday, and we were not disappointed. Very ably looked after by the lovely Vic, we had a proper schooner of Harveys BC and a nice glass of merlot to start ! A very nice salad and a steak and ale pie followed, with tea and coffee... More

Spent two nights here last week and had a very pleasant stay. The room was comfortable, the only downside being the shower which seemed to have a faulty thermostat meaning that it was impossible to get a shower. The bath was fine. The food was above average and was well presented. All the staff were attentive and aiming to please.... More

We popped into the Fat Lamb for a light lunch, a sort of reccy for an impending evening out with guests. The bar area looked tired, tired carpet, tired seating, tired tables and tired walls. We did not see the dinning room apart from a distant glimpse through the bar, which gave the impression (rightly or wrongly) of a clothed... More

An amazing stay in a tranquel quaint pub with fantastic grub, my hubby and dog enjoyed the local countryside too. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed everything the fatlamb had to offer from their exceptional drinks selection to some of the best pub grub I've had in a long time. This dog friendly B&B is one of many we have... More

Stayed at the Fat Lamb last weekend for our anniversary. Our daughter booked an evening meal for us from America with no trouble at all. Food was delicious, breakfast fantastic. Can't fault our stay. Thank you for a lovely stay.
