My Daughter very kindly bought me a Groupon voucher for my birthday for 2 nights at the Fat lamb. We decided to use it on our Wedding anniversary 8/11. We have just returned home. On arrival we were taken to our room. Number 5. It was large enough for 2 nights and very clean and although traditional it has a... More

A mid week treat in this completely unspoiled retreat. They do not care that they are not in vogue. The food is fab and the bath towels are big enough for two. Lovely clean rooms a roaring fire when needed. Its the small things that count x

A real traditional inn. The carpet and the furnishing are well worn, but this adds to the charm. the rooms are spotless and comfortable. The food is excellent and the staff are fantastic. A fab stay, authentic service and excellent food. A true gem! Thank you Fat Lamb!

This is our second stay here and on both occasions we have been well looked after.Comfortable surroundings, first class staff, nothing is too much bother and they are interested proud locals. Food is excellent, well prepared, attractive to look at and superb tastes. Yes it is 5miles from Kirby Stephen, but that is the attraction with views par excellance. We are sitting here with... More

Could not fault our stay. Staff friendly. Room spotless and very warm. Food great - large portions (though not the case for puddings!). Just need to be aware that it is very isolated and unless walking from the pub, quite drive to get elsewhere.

A friend apparently had a good experience here but they must have been easily pleased I guess. We booked two nights but I had a bad feeling within five minutes of entering the room and finding dog hair on my pillow( I'm asthmatic )but the rest of the room was clean or so I thought until I got in the... Great location in the rolling hills above Kirkby Steven. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent which we ate by the lovely coal fire. Excellent choice of dishes. I had the lamb (of course) - delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming

An eye-catching advert in The Oldie magazine brought us back to the Fat Lamb after a 25 year break and we weren't disappointed. It is what it says it is 'a country Inn'. It is a bit off the beaten track, unpretentious, quiet with friendly, helpful staff. Our room was clean and certainly big enough for a couple of night's... More

We spent a two night break here and enjoyed our stay although we did have a few negatives. The room was very small and the bed uncomfortable. The shower was extremely hot and we were unable to turn it down, presuming the thermostat was faulty. On the plus side the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and the staff... More

Two nights stay in September. A nice enough inn, maybe a bit tired in places (dining room), we had a comfortable room, nice food. On getting up the first morning we found no hot water, (and no apology) and no toilet roll. No dishes for the breakfast buffet cereal, and apparently I had the last mint tea bag the night... More
