We stayed here, as a party of nine, for the Burn's Night weekend. Phil and Sharon were excellent hosts and Paul was as genial as ever. Families with children are made very welcome. The entertainment was great, food was great, bed comfy, lovely roaring fire in the bar and overall very welcoming and cosy, what more could you wish for.... More

The food was nice and service ok. Just stopped on or way to Sedbergh from Appleby. They noticed when we left and thanked us. There was a nice fire in the bar area. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Originally booking for three nights we extended to a further night and may have had more were the weather not so extreme. You will find everything here, peace and quiet, good food and drink, personal service, good facilities, a roaring open fire and great facilities for disabled visitors with good wheelchair access front and back. There are fresh eggs every... More

We stayed for two nights, with our dog and had a fantastic time. Phil and Sharon made us feel so welcome and we had a great laugh. Fantastic food and atmosphere, with a lovely fire roaring in the bar. We will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable ;-).

Nice hotel food ok room ok great location. The only thing that let's it down is the £25 surcharge for a weekend stay. Would return but not at a weekend. It's a lovely drive from the motorway to get to Fat Lamb

We were two couples with our dogs and enjoyed two nights at The Fat Lamb. Wonderfully situated with great views and their own nature reserve out the back door - pamphlets with local walks and around the nature reserve. Easy access to loads of interesting places and walks galore. Phil and Sharan have just taken over and plan to put... More

This was the third December we have stayed here; new management had just taken over 4 days earlier but we had no need to worry; we had the best time ever!! We stayed in the same room (room 9) with outstanding views across the moors; the fire was always lit in the cosy bar area and the staff even arranged... More

We have recently stayed at The Fat Lamb. The location is beautiful and not too far from the main roads. The Inn was everything we were looking for and more. The coal fire and friendly staff made it a great break. The food was of a very high standard. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We... More

The hotel and bar are good, especially cosy kicking back with a pint across from the roaring fire in the evening, or sitting in the guests coffee area with a book. The food in the bar was tasty and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good and having a dog with us we were offered the bar area or the restaurant for... More

My Daughter very kindly bought me a Groupon voucher for my birthday for 2 nights at the Fat lamb. We decided to use it on our Wedding anniversary 8/11. We have just returned home. On arrival we were taken to our room. Number 5. It was large enough for 2 nights and very clean and although traditional it has a... More
