This was our third visit to this pub. A group uf us recently stayed 3 nights. Everyone commented how good the pub was. Friendly helpful staff and good food. A superb area for touring on quiet roads. The owner is a classic car owner and is able to advise on good routes for classic and vintage cars. We will definitely... More

Had a fantastic 2 night stay. Took the Dog with us and the staff were very accommodating. They could not do enough for us during our stay. The rooms were lovely and had a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside from our room. The food was really nice and as we had the dog with us we eat all our... More

Just a big thank you for a lovely welcome and stay at the fat lamb. The staff were outstanding with nothing too much for them. We chose the fat lamb because it was dog friendly and it was including a free tasty treat for our jack Russell Toby whilst we were supping on the perfectly brewed black sheep. If you... More

Welcoming , friendly inn on arrival mid afternoon. The staff couldn't do enough . Part of the reason we chose here was because it is pet friendly and this was our first venture to a b and b with our rescue dog. We need not have worried. The room was small but a twin/king size bed took up a lot... More

It has been said by many before us but this is a very pleasant country pub with a most friendly staff who genuinely wish to make your stay comfortable and friendly. Our room was large and well appointed. The usual hospitality tray was augmented with a teapot and the bathroom was equipped with both bath and shower. There are two... More

We stayed for 2 days midweek and despite indifferent weather had a lovely time. The positioning of the Inn is ideal for venturing into Yorkshire as well as Cumbria. We did both the walks suggested by the Inn and also went to Kirkby Stephen, Sedbergh and to The Abbot Hall Gallery in Kendal. We ate in The Fat Lamb on... More

A traditional country pub with extremely friendly and efficient staff. The accommodation and meals are precisely what one would expect from such a hostelry. Rooms are compact, clean and very cosy with loads of hot water. Good beer, good selection of wines and a wide choice of freshly made meals to suit most tastes.

We have been out doing the route plannning for the Lancashire Automobile Coast to Coast Classic Car Run. The event uses the Fat Lamb as a Control and this year we decided to break or journey be staying the night en route. Snow was piled high next to the roads but the roads were passable. We were greeted with a... More
