A perfect little pub in a sleepy village! We received a warm welcome when we arrived early afternoon. Our room spotlessly clean with lovely white fluffy towels. Food is amazing - good choice and beautifully cooked - you certainly won't go hungry. Breakfast too is delicous with locally sourced produce - the bacon and sausage are yummy!

I think it was George Orwell who imagined the perfect pub - he called it the Moon Under Water. The King's Head Ravenstonedale is pretty much my Moon Under Water. We had two very relaxing nights there for my birthday and would have found it hard to improve on the experience we had. A warm welcome (in fact all the... More

The penultimate night of our Reeth to Sedbergh long distance walk and the King's Head in Ravenstonedale offered a superb night's rest in a luxurious and beautifully decorated hotel. The first evening admittedly that I felt slightly out of place with my grubby walking boots, yet I had no reason to worry as the King's offered a nice welcome and... More

We have visited Ravonstonedale many times for family tree research and have been in The Kings Head a few times since it was refurbished but this time we decided on an overnight stay. The pub is very nice and although it has just been recently renovated a couple of years ago it still has a nice old fashioned feel The... More

We stayed here for 1 night mid week. The outside of the hotel does not do this establishment justice. The inside of the hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and is a joy to see. Rooms were well decorated, very comfortable and clean. Lovely bathroom. The food! if you are a foodie then it is worth coming... More

Great overnight stop, pleasant and efficient staff, lovely peaceful location and less than 10 minutes from Tebay junction. Food was very good, could be improved with more generous portion of lettuce with starter and new potatoes with main. A nod to the season and locality would be good, pureed sweet potatoes don't do it for me. Good to explore the... More

Tucked away in the small (bypassed) village of Ravenstonedale on the A685 half way between Kirby Stephen and the M6 Motorway at Tebay, it is all too easy to miss this gem ! What a shame that would be for the King's Head provides visitors with the warmest of welcomes. The whole property has recently been most tastefully refurbished and... More

Went for lunch with three generations of the family had to wait a while (30 mins) even though it wasn't too busy, but when the food arrived it was well presented and really good quality! The home made breads were very tasty although an explanation of the flavours would have been good. The sausage and mash main course was fantastic... More

Fantastic place we stayed just one night and arrived late but had booked ahead for dinner. Dinner was delicious (lamb was to die for) and the pub has a great atmosphere. The rooms was very good and comfortable I think freshly decorated too! Would recommend this Inn/Hotel and also the Black Sheep Inn in the village.
