After a 8 hour drive to travel 100 miles from Margate all I wanted was someone to say 'Hi', pull me pint and give me a table for food. I got that, but in a really warm friendly manner and even though the restaurant was full the Landlord (sorry, didn't even ask your name!) made sure I got a table... More

Came away from here very tired due to the noise of the extrator fan all night and the banging of pots and pans, radio etc as room 2 situated above the kitchen. Great food, great staff, great pub but definately not a good place for sleep. Have returned home exhausted!

We chose The Somerset Arms for our overnight weekend stay whilst visiting Bath and Longleat, and also booked a table in the restaurant in advance as it was a Saturday night. The place is easy to find thanks to brown signs and is located in a quiet area close to a canal. We were warmly welcomed and were pleasantly surprised... More

We went here 25th July for a treat for my dauther's birthday. The pub is a lovely old place decorated very nice on a closed road so may be difficult to find if you don't know the area. We were seated very quickly, the pub not being so busy but a nice enough atmosphere. The menu choice is quite good... More

We went last night for a meal to celebrate a birthday, group of 11. The bar was busy as it was a lovely evening. Our table was ready and we were seated on time. Our order was taken, there is a large choice on the menu, not much for vegetarians or the weight conscious though. 9 meals were brought out... More

My boyfriend and I ate at here a week ago and were very disappointed. The issue was not the fact that I found a piece of plastic in my mashed potato - the waiter was very apologetic and we were not charged for the one meal. However, when we came to pay the bill of £17.20, we only had a... More

We found this pub/restaurant by chance when traveling to Bath for the weekend. We had Sunday lunch that was very good the beef was tender and the vegetables cooked fresh. It was hot and served on a warm plate They have a good selection of beer and cider on offer, go try

We just spent two nights and had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The food's great and there's a good choice of real ales. Nice pub with a friendly atmosphere. The room was comfortable enough and good value for money. Great spot for touring the area, particularly if you're interested in canals. We'd definitely go back.

We didn't really plan to stay here but arrived a day earlier than we planned and this was the only place we could find which had vacancies. Location was fantastic with really nice canal side walks. The service was fantastic from really friendly staff.

So the room was not great. The decor is tired and my bedroom certainly needed freshening up. No wifi in rooms (but to be fair this us not promised in the advance booking info) but the pub below however is a different story. Some of the best pub cuisine I have had in many a long year of eating out.... More
