Took the Mrs here for our anniversary and had a great time. Only stayed the one night but was very friendly and accommodating. Piha Beach is definitely worth a look, the beach itself, Lion Rock and the bush walks are a fantastic natural wonder. Had a great time,

I went there a few years ago with some friends and we all found this hostel as the best one ever, piha beach is just an amazing place and the hostel there in the middile of the green forest is just something unussual.

I'm in love with this place. A few visits have made it my go-to for getting out of the city, now that I've settled here. Big, beautiful, and set back in the bush -- the beachstay is a luxurious backpackers that feels more like someone's beach house. Awesome open-plan kitchen/lounge. The bunk room has a row of the most awesome... More

One of the best hostels I ever visited! Beautiful view on the green hill from the cosy living room/kitchen. It was great to relax in the garden. Excellent value for money. Just a little stroll to the beach and the waterfall. Great staff.

I stayed two nights at Beachstay and really enjoyed my time in Piha. It's just a short walk from town/beach in one direction and hiking trails in the other. Also a short drive away from hiking in KareKare which I highly recommend. The coast and beaches in this part of the island are gorgeous. The Beachstay is a beautiful, lodge... More

An easy stay. Comfortable accommodation with a beautiful setting, well-equipped kitchen, light and spacious common area and friendly hens (outside). Not the most quiet place but of course this depends on with who you are sharing the place. Recommended!

I stayed here in October, 2010. It was very comfortable and in a great location (walking distance to a waterfall hike/ town), I have recommended it to numerous friends. Next time I'm in Piha I will stay here again.

I stayed in the ensuite room at the end of the house, which was well presented and comfy. There was a nice little terrace as well. In the main area is a large communal kitchen, and some comfortable seating. The local area is gorgeous with some walks and beaches nearby. Perfect little getaway from Auckland.

I have been meaning to write a review for years! That's how great Piha Beachstay is, I've been coming out here for the last 6 years and will continue to for many more :) The place is well designed and laid out to cater for your backpacker style lodging or you can have a private room with a bit more...
