We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge. I booked for 4 nights but we had flight delays and missed connections, so we ended up spending only 3 nights. I would say that's a minimum you should plan for if you are going all the way there to be able to enjoy what the place has to offer.... More

It was only by a recommendation by the Hotel Manager of the only 5 star hotel in Iquitos, Peru, the Hotel El Dorado Plaza did I find the Pacaya Simiria Amazon Lodge. Mr. Oscar informed me that I would be very happy there and then introduced me to the general manager of the lodge, Maria Elena Lau. I was picked... More

After 10 years of living in Peru, and trying many different lodges located in the Iquitos Amazon jungle area, in 2010, I decided that the Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge was THE best option. Our study abroad students were looking for that National Geographic Amazon experience that they had watched on tv for years. They wanted an authentic look at the... More

Guide met us at airport in Iquitos with driver. After 1.5 hr drive to Nauta, Peru (end of the road), we had lunch in the village and boarded a motorboat for the lodge, about a 30 minute ride deeper into the Amazon. We stayed 4 nights at the lodge. Superb staff. Meals included in our package (Green Tracks Travel Agency... More

We traveled as a family with our 7 year old and stayed 4 days/3 nights and we'd go back in a heartbeat. Rey, our guide, was well prepared, friendly, curious, solicitous of our interests and needs, and he speaks excellent English (the non-Spanish-speaking members of our group didn't know how good they had it with Rey until later in our... My husband and I spent a week at Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge with Rey as our incredible guide and mentor. The lodge is in the jungle with no hot water and electricity from 6-10 pm, so don't expect the Hyatt. Our experience was quite amazing, seeing dolphins, dozens of different kinds of birds exotic and fantastic), sloths, monkeys, etc as well... More

Although a trip for four days is quite expensive, it was definitely worth every dollar! From the moment we were picked up from the airpor we didn't have to think about anything. Everything in our program was arranged. We visited a market in Nauta and after that our jungle experience begun. We saw many animals due to the excellent eyes... More

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights/4 days in the Hatuchay - Pacaya Samiria Lodge from 31/12 to 4/1. This was a great experience for both of us as this was the first time visiting the jungle. I would really recommend this lodge which is located in front of the Marañon River and closer to the Pacaya Samiria National... More

We spent 5 days here and Reyes was our guide. He is terrific, funny and speaks great English. He is also great at making animal calls, spotting and hearing wildlife from a distance. We saw a lot of pink, grey dolphins, sloths, hawks, herons and a tonne of other birds. Some personal highlights were: Swimming in the cool river. Catching... More

This hotel is great and our tour experience was amazing. Huber, our guide, was extremely knowledgable about the jungle, was really nice to us, and his English was excellent. The hotel should be happy that they have someone as special as him working for them. We went night and day hiking, swimming, piranha fishing, visited villages etc. We saw sloths,... More
