We had a very memorable stay at this lodge recently. We stayed for three days. During the days, we went for trips conducted by the lodge - river expedition on Nanay and Amazon rivers, trip to Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm, trip to meet people from the native Bora community, and walk around the markets in Iquitos. In the evenings, there wasn't... More

The title is the absolute truth. I have traveled all over the world, and this place is my absolute favorite. The experience is like no other. The excursions are amazing. The amount of stars you can see is indescribable. The homemade food is incredible. If you want a real jungle experience, and aren't afraid of cold water, then do this.... More

If you are looking to really get in touch with the essence of the jungle, this is a great place to do it. The lodge is located in a small rural community up the river from Iquitos, and most of the people who work and help out at the lodge are from the community. The staff and the volunteers are... More

We left San Pedro Lodge with disappointment. The whole idea of the lodge is great: rustic, inexpensive and really close to nature but what they accomplish is far from what they want this to be. The staff was OK, kind and at your service but really unengaged. The lodge was really dirty, the bathrooms more then basic, with not even... More

I was standing in front of my hotel of last night, at half past ten, when a man approached me with a big smile and asked: “Eres señorita Geerts?”. I smiled back at him, shook his hand, and went into his motokar (a kind of motorcycle with three wheels, where the two person’s backseat is covered with a plastic roof).... More

It was really quiet and nice. Although the first night we decided to go to the main house at 5 pm. There was no one, no electricity no information and it started to get dark. Then de storm came and lightning and rain. We took shelter in the little village behind the Lodge. It felt like they didn't care, as... More

We stayed here for 6 days, and did the package deal with the Yarapa River tour during our stay. When we arrived in Iquitos, we were met by the lodge at the airport and taken by motorkar and boat to the bungalows. We were greeted by a volunteer who was staying at the lodge for a month. The bungalows are... More

I wanted to take my family to the Amazon and have them experience living in the jungle. After searching for a few weeks, my wife and I came across this lodge. Reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Upon making the reservation, the owner Cato made contact with me to welcome my family and I to... More

I spent 3 days here in September 2014 with my now husband (we actually got engaged on the trip in Machu Picchu). The first part of our 2 week trip to Peru was with a tour company (Lima, Cuzco, Puno), and the second part we did on our own to Iquitos and the Amazon. Let me just say that this... More

I spent 3 days here and enjoyed my time immensely. The owner, Cato left the place in the capable hands of volunteers Michelle and Robin, cook Clara, Walter and Rudopho. Together with long term guest Dale, I was well looked after with their warm hospitality. There are a few straw roofed cabins, 2 directly beside the boat dock If a sparse... More
