I was brought to the plough as a surprise for my birthday. We stayed in a huge and fantastic room lovely decor, cosy and so relaxing. The food was excellent. Smoked chicken risotto was brilliant. I had filet streak again fantastic. The layout was lovely, really sociable but well spaced out. So good we are returning in February. Thank you... More

On Saturday 16th January 2016 we visited the Plough for an evening meal. Our first time. Its like a Tardis far bigger inside than out. The service was excellent, lots of space between tables. The food was fantastic, we had the Duck which was four different types. The prices are reasonable. We did see the pictures of the bedrooms which... More

Have visited this restaurant so many times and never once been disappointed. The ambience is delightful, the staff really lovely, kind and helpful and the food is delicious. Felt the need to write this today as a lunch I ate the best risotto I've ever tasted. A pumpkin one with sage and chestnuts and pumpkin seeds. The rice was cooked... More

My wife and I called in one wet miserable Sunday afternoon and were given a lovely reception. Decided to eat and we were more than impressed with the quality and service Lovely modern decor and homely atmosphere all round. Will certainly return with friends soon.

Lovely evening meal with friends. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant and helpful staff.2 of us had fillet steak. Both very happy with our choice. 2 had one of the specials, a sea food stew, they enjoyed it but a touch disappointed with this. Served in a bowl and did look a bit more like a starter than a full meal. Could have... More

We were traveling from Stranraer to Burley-in-Wharfedale and found the Plough as we came off the M6. Nice selection of dishes, fast service and hot food. The food was well presented, but the portions a little small for the ravenous. Worth a visit if traveling up and down the M6.

Definitely not disappointed excellent food wonderful staff and comfortable surroundings. Would definitely recommend you stop off here if visiting around the A65 lakes or heading further south. At the gateway to the South Lakes, this is a lovely bolt hole. A destination restaurant for many, and they have service down to a tee. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated with gorgeous little touches. Importantly, great beds - nice and cosy with a lush and beautifully appointed bathroom. Really nice as a treat for a weekend, and don't even... More

My wife and I visited a month ago and had a fantastic evening meal. We popped in for lunch with the family today and I had the best mutton dish I have ever tasted, the seafood platter was also great; looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu.
