We stayed here earlier in the year and loved it especially the superb rooms and we also enjoyed the food and hospitality but we called in for a late evening meal recently and the service was not so good (they forgot about my wife's main course until the other three of us had nearly finished our meals). The food however... More

Really good steak for a tenner! I think the pricing is due to change to a set menu on steak night, with a minimum of a starter and steak, but regardless, it's good food and a fantastic refurbishment. Wine was also great and staff were friendly - really nice pub.

Popped in for lunch, expecting a good tasty lunch after reading reviews. But it has changed hands and the good food must have exited with last owner: I had fishermans platter (not cheap at over £14) which consisted of a handful of defrosted frozen prawns with a blob of commercial Marie Rose sauce, a slab of strange tasting smoked salmon... We had a fantastic meal here. They were fully booked but managed to squeeze us in and we had amazing steaks. Service was really good too. Would really recommend to anyone in the area but try and book in just in case!

Called in here looking for somewhere to eat with my husband, teenage son and dog, and were very impressed. The menu looked promising, although a bit pricey, but the food came quickly and the service was friendly and efficient. Good attention to detail on presentation, and lovely flavours throughout, with the dessert being particularly imaginative and delicious. Very happy to... More

We just spent a weekend at The Plough, could not fault it at all. We stayed in The Torsin, I love this room, the bed is so comfortable, the room is huge and I didn't want to leave the shower! The staff are so friendly. They have just had a change in management and we were a little apprehensive as... More

Visited the plough about three or four times in the last year, the food has been consistently good, however the service is hit and miss, I have stopped going due to this, the staff make you feel like you are putting them out, we has a polish lady waitress who was pleasant but spoke poor English and didn't have a... Recently stayed at this hotel for one night,it was booked as a surprise for my birthday. On arrival staff were friendly and approachable, nothing too much trouble. Stayed in redman, which was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, with superb bathroom. Ate in dining room, food cooked to perfection, and served piping hot. A lovely overnight stay ,would certainly recommend .
