Stayed just for 1 night. Mark was great and so was Rose. They were very friendly and hospitable. They are the only reason I give the hotel 3 stars . If Mark and Rose hadn't have been so nice, I would have given 1 star. It's difficult to give a review of the hotel as its an old building and... More

We booked ahead of time and got a great room with a view of Wells which was cool. The room was very clean and a good size. The bed was comfortable and there was a vanity was well as the sink in the bathroom which was great for getting ready in the morning. The front desk staff was very nice... More

loved this pub, friendly landlord, decent foor, good real beer not fizzy mass produced (from Quesnel?) pool table, friendly clientele in a hippie-colonised small town revived from goldrush days. etc etc

I recently spent 10 days in Wells for an Artist Workshop and stayed at the Hub. The owners are wonderful folks, who go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Rooms are clean and beds super comfortable. I had a kitchenette first, then moved to Queen room upstairs, Diane supplied me with a toaster and... More

Smallest room I've ever stayed in. Probably the only one (except hostels) without a tv. Was fairly bright though and had free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was kind of lacking, there wasn't even any tea set out. Ok as a base when you're mostly going to be out and about, I wouldn't want to hang around in it for too long though.

Stayed here for two nights on a motorcycle trip with another couple. As soon as we arrived and were shown our rooms...we had to immediately ask for something bigger....first room had only a bed that you could barely walk around, no chair, no nothing! Second room was a bit bigger but in need of a good cleaning...baseboards were filthy as... More

We had a great time at the Wells Hotel! It's not fancy, but it's unique and lots of fun. We went down to the Pub and enjoyed a glass of wine. While we were there water began to drip from the ceiling, so buckets were placed on the floor to catch the drips. The pipes are old (original to something... More

The Hotel was magnificent with all you would expect of old wold charm being built in 1933 through the gold rush. Owner Mark and staff where truly amazing! The food and service at the hotel was exceptional and Mark's selection of Scotch in the bar rivals thoughs anywhere in the world.

We have been staying at the Wells Hotel for a week and very much enjoy it. We have one more night before heading home. We are here for a week long harp school. I am here to explore the history of the area. There is a great heritage mining town 8km away called Barkerville where gold mining began around 1860.... More

Loved the Wells hotel, set us back in time, the rooms are clean and quaint. Took a walk and enjoyed talking to the locals, very friendly. Would recommend to anyone. small, no tv's but that worked out well. My Niece was a little disappointed the hot tub was closed during our stay.
