We came here for a family vacation/reunion of sorts since we had grown up as kids summering on Hornby and wanted to share the experience with our own children. Needless to say Tribune Bay Campsite is not where you want to stay. The sites were small and dirty and we could get our trailer into the spot we reserved 4... More

First off, let me remind people this is an island that requires two ferry trips to arrive. This is true island life. They take recycling very seriously (world renowned), and garbage that is left on this island has to be removed from the island, at a high cost. I have had the pleasure of staying on Hornby a half dozen... More

What a disapointment! We had been planning our family trip for over a month. We called Tribune Bay after reading their website and seeing the "family" campground we spoke with the office and were reassured that yes this is a family camp ground no parties clean and family friendly. I went to the lenghth of telling her that we had... More

What makes this campsite great is the proximity to Tribune Bay. Within a 5 minute walk is the fabulous beach, and in the other direction is a small cluster of shops with everything you would need including camping supplies (at very resonable costs). I this complex are clothing stores, cofee shop/ice cream, 2 restaurants, galleries, real estate office, bike rentals,... More

Stayed two nights in campground, booked 3mths in advance to have choice (private and quiet) campsite. Found out that wasn't really possible since all the campsites were very close together. Main benefit is the proximity to the beach, just a short 5min walk away. One suggestion is to provide soap by the sinks. Overall it was fine for our short... More

We have stayed at Tribune Bay Campsite every year for the last 13 years. We love the location, close to the beautiful beaches of Hornby. However, the campsite has gone down-hill in the last few years. We can no longer ignore the fact that the showers are dirty and don't work properly, that the wash-house was locked (due to a... More

I have stayed at Tribune Bay Campground many times in the past. Although it wasn't noted for having the cleanest washrooms (use the ones at the CO-OP) it was well run and if you weren't respectful of others, you were asked to leave. The new owners are ruining a beautiful spot. I even tried to reserve a spot last week... More

As the other reviewers have noted this camground is not well run, dirty, neglected and full of loud partying lager louts and lots and lots of children and dogs. We had two different experiences at this campground. The first two nights we stayed in sites 64 and 65 with several families from our son's grade school class. When all the... More

Hi, We stayed there for three days. The showers and washrooms weren't terribly clean. The place is noisey and full of children. The staff tried to be polite but I think were tired of dealing with the type of public that stays at a campground on weekends. The staff did get visibly and audibly agitated when dealing with regular clients.... More

We are experienced tenting and VW Westfalia campers, are not overly fussy and are very used to staying in unserviced Forestry Sites with only pit latrines and no more. As we were in need of a shower after over a week in such sites and going to Hornby Island, Tribune Bay Campsite was recommended to us as there would be... More
