For those who are tired of the hotel & restaurant chains The Old Courthouse Inn offers a very pleasant change. The rooms are comfortable & quiet which makes for a good night's sleep. Only problem was staying up too late reading the several books that provide interesting Powell River history. What a beautiful little restaurant on the main floor! Breakfast... More

Very quaint inn, with comfortable beds and lots of charm! We were the only guests, so we had our choice of rooms. We had a good sleep, and the shower was hot! The host was very helpful, and we felt very welcome. We had a small TV, but we had a couch and side tables,so it was adequate. The books... More

A fabulous visit with Kelly, Yvonne, Corinne, and Dave. Kelly, owner, cook and jack of all trades was a pure sincere delight, serving up an incomparable breakfast choice: from Benny's to oatmeal and toast complete with homemade Blackberry jam (this truly reminded me of my Great Uncle Bill's house). Historic cozy rooms from the Sherrif's Office to the Judge's Chamber,... More

The warm welcome from the man who is very proud of his lovely hotel. When I was walking up the front stairs it was like walking into my grandparents home, the feeling was warm and fuzzy. I feel as the ghosts from the early 1900 where watching every move I made. The room my husband and I had was warm... More

Just spent two wonderful nights at this quaint little hotel. Must say right from the start that those who find the paper mill such an issue should have done some research first. I found the whole thing quite fascinating...watching the big barges filled with wood chips being towed into the cove protected by "The Hulks", the mill is very quiet... More

The place was apparently fully booked so the only room available was the most expensive room - so we took that. When we arrived it was clear to us that it was almost empty, at night there were at most, three cars parked in the lot. The only positive thing I can say about it was that the room was... More

The interior is unique & beautifully decorated with the owners own personal history weaved throughout, you need to take a few moments to check out both floors. Our room was very comfortable & the bathroom looked like it was recently renovated. The innkeepers were down to earth, and the breakfast in Edie Rae's Cafe was great! We were travelling with... This hotel has history and style. It is certainly not your typical North American standard hotel. Despite the house being pretty old, there are few inconveniences when it comes to the room. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast very good. Location of the hotel however is miserable, in a fairly deserted part of the town, just behind a large... More

Pros • Awesome view of the pulp mill with its epic billowing steam clouds • Corridors decorated with creepy antiques and ephemera • High ceilings • Staff were very friendly Cons • Despite repeated efforts on our part to check in the day we arrived, staff didn’t check us in till halfway through our two-night stay, and then made us... A very charming hotel filled with antiques, with a very friendly staff and excellent breakfast included. It is like living in the past but with all the modern conveniences of the present. It is not a large hotel so it becomes very familiar and comfortable. Would highly recommend it.
