My wife and I stayed in May with our two Sons (aged 6 and 9). The views are stunning, exploring and walking is great. Loved the kayaking, over the other side, down river, etc. Take lunch and come back after exploring an even more remote area. On our list of best ever holidays.

We planned our stay here as a real treat and it surpassed all our expectations. We arrived early having crossed on the ferry from Vancouver Island and we were welcomed and encouraged to go into our chalet and enjoy the facilities We were in Chalet 1 and the quality of everything was to a very high standard. We wanted a... More

My husband and I recently stayed in Chalet 1 for two nights after the Thanksgiving long weekend. I had been twice before, about 6-7 years ago. We were looking forward to getting away from it all, which this place provides. It is quiet, rustic, no cell service, TV, or WiFi to distract or tempt us. We loved that about this... More

Thank you for taking the time to put this feedback. From your letter, I take it that you stayed in chalet #1 previously. You were fully aware and our website has the bed configuration for this place, which is two double beds. If you wanted a king bed, there were other chalets available with the king bed configuration and a... More

What a fabulous place ! The lodges are amazing just wish we could of spent longer . The accommodation was so spacious and well equipped and overlooking the river . It was so nice to have a bit of self catering after 3 weeks of eating out at least twice a day . Such a peaceful location and Lund the... More

The daunting task of trying to do justice to Desolation Resort has stopped me reviewing it since our visit at Easter. It was an unique experience.. Situated in the wilderness of old growth forest, and on the shore of Okeover inlet, the cabins blend into the tree- and sea-scape but hide an interior with every convenience & spacious comfort, even... Really enjoyed our stay at Desolation Resort, the scenery was fantastic and so peaceful. It is just a short boat or canoe trip into Desolation Sound Marine Park which is simply breathtaking. Although the cabins look a little old on the outside, they are very comfortable. They are cleaned to a high standard and have all the self catering utensils... More

My time in the resort was refreshing and memorable. Last June, I had a group of friends together and we shared 3 chalets - #2, #5 and #6. By the time we got there, it was after 4 p.m. We checked-in. In front of us, the inlet was so peaceful and quiet. Some of us headed down to the beach.... More

This was our second time staying at the Desolation Resort and we were delighted to find the place as beautiful as ever (after about 14 years since our last visit!). The lovely wood chalets are all unique, nestled in the trees and overlooking the spectacular and very private Desolation Sound. We were in chalet #5, which had two bedrooms and... More

Wonderful luxurious chalets imbedded in a breathtaking scenery that invites for hiking and any kind of watersports - especially canoeing and kayaking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the nature. There is no TV or telephone bothering you. The nearby restaurant Laughing Oyster offers excellent meals and in the community... More

The location couldn't be better! I felt so relaxed and close to nature there. Absolutely nothing in the world feels better than listening to the sound of your paddles streaking through the still water as you kayak through the water right before the sun makes it's way down the horizon. The complimentary kayaks and canoes are a great addition! Our... More
