We spent 3 days at the lodge and loved it. Everyone was great, the guides answered any and all questions with a somewhat humorous yet professional manner. The staff at camp treated us like family. The room we had was large and very comfortable, with attached bathroom. As for the meals, I don't eat any seafood, lamb or duck which... More

This place is a once in a lifetime experience, though if I have my way I will be going back. Initially I thought the trip was pricey, but when you realise it includes the sea plane flights, luxury accommodation, food and drink of the highest quality and the most amazing experience viewing bears in their natural habitat you start to... My husband and I wanted to take a trip to see grizzly bears, and when he found the Great Bear Lodge on line, we immediately booked a three night stay. We were not disappointed in the least; in fact, the entire experience was over the top! The entire staff of the lodge greeted us after our short float plane ride... More

This is the real deal. From the sea plane flight from Port Hardy to being met by lodge staff waiting on the lodge platform to welcome you. Really can't recommend this place highly enough the accommodation and hospitality are superb and all the staff outstanding. We were blessed with fabulous fellow guests and bear viewing you could only dream of... More

I was asked numerous times, upon my return to Australia from an 8 week holiday travelling around parts of U.S.A. and Canada, what the highlight was.....THATS EASY....the answer is, without question or hesitation, by far.... it was my 4 nights at the Great Bear Lodge at Smiths Inlet in British Columbia to view GRIZZLY BEARS. I am passionate about seeing... More

The highlight of our tour of Canada was the three days spent at the Great Bear Lodge. The welcome you receive when you arrive is like visiting family - what other accommodation has all the staff come out to greet you (and farewell you when you leave). The new lodge is spectacular and all the staff go out of their... More

We flew out to Great Bear Lodge from Port Hardy via float plane. This was part of a 7,000 mile auto trip into remote parts of British Columbia. Upon landing, we instantly felt so welcome by all the staff and other guests out on the deck to meet our plane. We were delighted with our gorgeous room with an outstanding... More

We ended our Canada/ Alaska trip with a three day stay at the Great Bear Lodge and we could not have picked a better finish to our holiday. All the staff were there to greet us from the float plane and within minutes we felt right at home, were eating delicious freshly baked cookies and getting ready for our first... More
