We arrived late off the Inside Passage ferry and all the popular hotels were full. We paid $150 arriving to a shabby room with 70s carpet, a bad smell, no amenities. There is no restaurant, a dilapidated lobby and an overall rundown feeling. For $60, OK, but for $150?? Book ahead if you're traveling in the summer. Only thing to... More

From the shabby appearance of the facility to the lack of amenities in the room, this hotel has nothing to recommend it. The welcome was tentative. The room had on week single ceiling light and a lamp nailed down on a desk far from the bed. No lights on either side of the bed and no night stand on one... More

1.No air conditioner. 2.Bad smell. 3.WIFI is so poor , you can only receive the signal in certain areas of 1st floor. 4. Give me the wrong key and wrong WIFI number. 5. 2+3 makes the hotel worst of the worst: you can't open your window to get rid of the bad smell since your window is right faced with... More

Stayed here for two weeks in the summer, my preferred places were full. for the first week it was an old room with orange carpets from the seventies, smelled of beer and smokes but was alright when the window was open. Lots of people outside at all hours having loud conversations either in the parking lot or in the hall.... More

Arriving close to midnight with many others from the ferry (Prince Rupert to Port Hardy) the staff members were efficient, friendly, and well organized in handling the crowd. Our room was stark (smelled like fresh paint) however the bed linens were first rate, the towels plentiful & lush, & the bed comfy. Unfortunately no air conditioning and with the window... More

The only saving grace about this hotel was the new king size bed in the room. The room itself was very dated and the carpet was disgusting; it looked like a science experiment. Even the bedside lamp (which was nowhere near the bedside) was bolted to the table so you couldn't move it. Apparently they will be doing reno's this... More

Thank you for your review of The Port Hardy Inn. As you noted the hotel is certainly dated but we are working diligently to get ready for our renovations come the fall, including actual bed lamps! We hear you about the carpet, there is definitely some interesting patterns throughout the building, we'd also like to assuage your concerns about the... More

I was surprised how good the rooms were given that the reviews indicated it was very rugged. Due to ongoing renovations most rooms have been updated. The room was well equipped with a large TV, clean bathroom. The rooms are rather spacious compared to most hotels I have been to. The hotel is mere steps away from the mall, which... More

You are in the last backwoods Canadian towns around. Fishermen, lumber jacks, and miners most likely out number tourists. Forget your 600 thread count sheets, TV on demand, well stocked library. You are in simple times and you should be thankful you can experience it. Simple, clean local and a way of life. You don't go here for clubbing or... More

Pulled in after dark and found the service and accommodations acceptable. Greeted with a friendly check in clerk. For the price you would stay in nicer places elsewhere, but this is isolated Port Hardy and you can't be too picky.

It is a very basic but clean and comfortable Inn although corridors are dark and dingy. Room has a coffee maker but no kettle. Shampoo only provided in bathroom. Free WiFi but it kept disconnecting so no-one could use it. Best part was Seto's restaurant on site where the food was cooked to order, very large tasty portions and they... More
