This is a decent quality hotel right on the bay in Port Hardy. Definitely not Vancouver but if you're in Port Hardy and need a place for a couple of nights you won't be disappointed. The rooms are clean but could soon need a coat of paint. The staff is extremely friendly and treats you like you've been there a... More

I have stayed at the Glen Lyon more than 50 nights in the past three years. The service is excellent. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The location is very convenient, without being too close the the centre of the city. Beautiful nature walks along the Quatse waterway are near by and the local industrial area is fascinating -- the... More

This hotel is well maintained. The room was very comfortable. The lobby had morning coffee available as well. The desk staff was helpful in requesting a taxi for me. (Taxis in Port Hardy are cash only.)

Room was clean and comfortable, if a bit dated but there was evidence of refurbishment going on, staff were helpful and polite, and all the rooms overlook Hardy Bay. Most people would be staying here to catch the ferry to Prince Rupert or after getting off the ferry. Room price was high when compared with other hotels on Vancouver Island,... More

Port hardy is not big with limited choices. The room was clean with water view. The one and only restaurant is very limited, nothing for vegeterians. It's really too bad. The room was cold and took a while to warm up. There are many workers stay here on the Friday night which was a bit noisy.

We did not stay here, but we had a beautiful sald in the restuarant one afternoon. Service was good and the food was really good. The waiter told us it was a new chef and he enjoyed trying new things. It showed. The place is very dated and in need of redecorating which they may be doing. Things were sorta... More

We had randomly decided to visit Port Hardy and asked at a local gas station for a hotel/motel recommend. The Glen Lyon Inn was the only suggestion and the cashier said we should ask for the 'Jacuzzi' room! We arrived at the hotel and they had vacancies = $90 for a regular room, $150 for the "Jacuzzi" suite. We went... More

My friend and I stayed overnight in order to catch the North Coast Water Taxi out of Port Hardy the next morning at 8 am---the first leg of our 7.5 hike of the North Coast Trail. This worked out well for us because the Marina was one block away, the motel restaurant opened early (6:30 am) and we also had... More

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. All of the rooms have a view of the working harbour and the hotel is placed not more then a few feet from the high tide mark. There is always somethin to watch and enjoy from the balcony. On our last visit, Pink Salmon were swimming by in large numbers as they... More

Spent one night here after getting off the very late ferry from Prince Rupert after my accommodation of choice was fully booked. Although the exterior of the building looks like a dated motel, we were very pleasantly surprised as we had a lovely big clean en-suite room with everything you need and in the morning we opened the curtains to...
