We travel to Port Hardy every year in July to go salmon fishing and have stayed at the Glen Lyon twice. There are four of us therefore we rent two rooms. In 2013 both of the rooms had very loud bathroom fans which I reported to the front desk. This past July one of the rooms was the same as... More

We stayed at the Glen Lyon following a BC Ferries trip down the BC coast. Late night check-in did go smoothly and the front desk person was very accommodating and worked diligently to get everyone settled for the night. The brochures and other advertising makes the Glen Lyon look different than it really looks in person. Our room was large,... More

Short: Clean room, basic services, friendly front desk, pricey for the package. Long: We paid $166 Cdn for one night. Not a stylish place, but the room was clean and right on the water. We had to open the sliding door to cool the room down as there was not a/c. Everything is basic and in need of updating. The... More

In some ways the hotel is fairly basic, but it serves its purpose. rooms are well equipped and clean but open on to the ar park or an open walkway. The location is good both for downtown Port Hardy and for the ferry on the Inside Passage. The restaurant has only a limited range of food and the service was... More

Truthfully I would give this a three and a half stars if I could, but since 1/2 increments aren't available I rounded up due to the friendly service. The rooms are dated, but fairly large. There was a cooking stove available in the room, though that wasn't a factor since we were passing through to catch the ferry. The view... More

The hotel is absolutely okay for staying overnight in order to catch the ferry. Kind people at the reception desk and the restaurant, friendly service. The rooms are rather old, but clean. The food in the restaurant is fine. Very nice view on the water.

sink plugged with hair etc, had to clean myself. carpet very dated , room cramped with furniture , terrible high prices for dinner, 19.00 for Caesar salad with chicken, room located in a cramped corner, price was 160.00 per night, should have been 80.00 based on comparable room down south, had to wait 1.5 hours to get my dinner, outside... Comfortable, clean room. Only drawback to the beautiful view from your deck view is that you are next to the takeoff run for float planes. Not too frequent, though, and it stops at night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fair hike to the town; easy drive. Small town has all the essentials. Found a good photo shop when I needed... More

I really don't expect much from a hotel. Clean room, reasonable price, Internet and tv. Well this place got the clean room part right. If your planning on staying here better bring a board game because you get basic cable and the Internet is horrid..I actually had to disconnect and use my phone for this review,it was literally impossible to...
