We had randomly decided to visit Port Hardy and asked at a local gas station for a hotel/motel recommend. The Glen Lyon Inn was the only suggestion and the cashier said we should ask for the 'Jacuzzi' room! We arrived at the hotel and they had vacancies = $90 for a regular room, $150 for the "Jacuzzi" suite. We went... More

My friend and I stayed overnight in order to catch the North Coast Water Taxi out of Port Hardy the next morning at 8 am---the first leg of our 7.5 hike of the North Coast Trail. This worked out well for us because the Marina was one block away, the motel restaurant opened early (6:30 am) and we also had... More

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. All of the rooms have a view of the working harbour and the hotel is placed not more then a few feet from the high tide mark. There is always somethin to watch and enjoy from the balcony. On our last visit, Pink Salmon were swimming by in large numbers as they... More

Spent one night here after getting off the very late ferry from Prince Rupert after my accommodation of choice was fully booked. Although the exterior of the building looks like a dated motel, we were very pleasantly surprised as we had a lovely big clean en-suite room with everything you need and in the morning we opened the curtains to... We stayed here as part of an organised tour and It was a surprise to stay in a motel with such a wonderful view. Our room had a balcony and we were able to see seals chasing salmon and the salmon jumping out of the water. There is a pub and restaurant located next door to the motel. Our room... More

We stayed for 3 nights. due to the ferry, we had a very late arrival in the early hours of the morning along with a number of other guests. Despite the early hour the staff were friendly and helpful and quick at getting everyone sorted with their rooms. Rooms were a good size and very comfortable, and with tea/ coffee... More

We travel to Port Hardy every year in July to go salmon fishing and have stayed at the Glen Lyon twice. There are four of us therefore we rent two rooms. In 2013 both of the rooms had very loud bathroom fans which I reported to the front desk. This past July one of the rooms was the same as... More

We stayed at the Glen Lyon following a BC Ferries trip down the BC coast. Late night check-in did go smoothly and the front desk person was very accommodating and worked diligently to get everyone settled for the night. The brochures and other advertising makes the Glen Lyon look different than it really looks in person. Our room was large,... More

Short: Clean room, basic services, friendly front desk, pricey for the package. Long: We paid $166 Cdn for one night. Not a stylish place, but the room was clean and right on the water. We had to open the sliding door to cool the room down as there was not a/c. Everything is basic and in need of updating. The... More
