We were originally booked into Telco House for three nights, but an emergency arose and the owners there called while we were driving to Port Hardy to say that they couldn't take us. They got us in at the Orange Tabby instead at the same rate; the only downside was that breakfast was not made for us. I called the... More

James met us with a very warm welcome and loads of ideas for our short visit to Port Hardy. The accommodation and breakfasts were excellent but James went that extra mile to make sure we gained the most out of our visit. We would certainly recommend the Orange Tabby and will come again next time we are in this beautiful... More

Very comfortable medium sized room at the front of the house. Good sized bathroom. All clean and tidy. Lovely breakfasts which served as a great opportunity to find the best local spots for bear watching or beach combing. We had access to a kitchen which was great for making a tea or coffee and making up a hot flask at... More

Each year my wife and I haul our boat from the Phoenix Arizona area to Port Hardy for a week of salmon and halibut fishing. It's a long and arduous journey, but knowing that the Orange Tabby awaits us spurs us northward. Upon arriving, we were greeted most warmly by James, Susan and Rizona (the house pooch). Our suite was... More

Two nights at the Orange Tabby in early August 2015. James and Susan have hectic lives so they Patricia was there meeting guests, dishing out brilliant meals and offering great conversation. This is definitely an accommodation that I list as 'return visit'. No point going elsewhere in Port Hardy. The only question I have is: Where precisely was the Orange... More

We had the pleasure of a four night stay here with James and Susan. We arrived after midnight on the ferry from Bella Coola to a lovely note from James and Susan welcoming us to Port Hardy and next morning we woke after a super nights sleep to an amazing breakfast of fruit, followed by cooked eggs and sausages and... susan was very friendly and helpful. it was like a home far from home. the brealfast was delicious, with a lot to eat. the B&B is central and next to the harbour. i was there in october, but i would say in august or september you can see more wildlife and bears.

If you find yourself in Port Hardy, look no further than the Orange Tabby B&B. It is well-kept (the room and bathroom looked new), spotlessly clean, a short walk from town and hosted by the most friendly, charming people. It literally is a home-away-from-home with everything you will need. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, two types of delicious home made... More
