Gorgeous place, lovely room with a four poster bed and delicious made to order cooked breakfast and freshly made bread each morning. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and they cannot do enough for you. So many nice places to visit locally both for a day out and for eating/ drinking. Amazing value as well for what you get.

We spent a week at Mayfield Hall in the Whitehurst room and couldn’t have been more pleased with the Mayfield hospitality and accommodation. The owners have done a superb job of transforming this house into a beautiful home that many guests can enjoy. The Whitehurst room and all of the public spaces held tasteful furnishings, elegant draperies, and small designer... More

My hubby and I went to Mayfield for his 50th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room,Whitehurst was luxurious and comfy and we had a lovely stay there. Breakfast was impressive and our hosts were considerate and friendly. We went to the Rose and Crown for dinner which was a short walk away. It is a special place with... More

We stayed here last weekend while attending a wedding at the hall. It was an experience I doubt I will have the pleasure of repeating in this life! The hall is predominantly a Georgian country house, but parts date back to the 12th Century! However to stay there you feel comfortably within the 21st Century. A more extensive history of... More

Mayfield Hall was my daughters choice for her wedding reception and after a number of pre-wedding visits and a two night stay my wife and I can fully appreciate why. Yes, it goes without saying that the House and the grounds are beautifully preserved and maintained, but added to these excellent features was the warmth and friendliness we received from... More

We love staying here, the house and grounds are very impressive. As on our previous visit, the breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit and yoghurt, home-made bread and a perfectly cooked full English breakfast - all the ingredients exude quality and there was plenty of tea and coffee (the coffee was just perfect Mike!!). This is a... More

My husband and I recently had a weekend away and stayed here. I don't have a bad word to say. Starting from the friendly welcome, we felt at home. As we stayed off peak times and were the only guests so they gave us an upgrade to room with a 4-poster bed. The room was gorgeous and fit the era... More

We finally tied the knot after 18 years together and having this event at Mayfield Hall made it really special. Mayfield Hall was the perfect venue and Mike and Marie made the whole weekend really special. The Hall and surrounding grounds are stunning and you could not find a lovelier place. Our room was the wedding suite and it was... More

A belated review of Mayfield Hall where we celebrated our wedding on 28th September 2013. We had the whole place to ourselves for the weekend and all our guests promptly fell in love with the place - just like we did. An absolutely stunning setting with beautiful grounds to explore, Mayfield Hall is a wonderful old country house with the... More

An excellent choice at short notice, one recommended by a relative. Totally agree with other reviewers, its labeling as a B&B does not do it justice. A classic country house in a very historic village setting, far away from the usual noise of modern society. The booked room was sumptuous, tastefully furnished with a super comfort bed, and gorgeous views... More
