Lovely stay in a wonderful part of the country. Amazon offer with friends was great value. Clean and adequate accommodation, very friendly staff. Cooked breakfast was great! Surrounded by beautiful scenery and backs onto the Tissington Trail which is great to cycle or walk. Would recommend. We stayed in the stable block, very spacious!

We also bought the Amazon local deal and found it excellent value. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable, as were the bar and lounge areas. Staff were helpful and friendly, as were the other guests. A great place for exploring the Peak District.

We booked two cottages as we took our dog with us. Well appointed accommodation with en suite bath and shower, flat screen tv , tea and coffee making facilities. As good as three star hotel standard. Location is great as the Tissington trail runs past the Guest house. Matlock, Bakewell, Edale and Ashbourne all in easy reach. The Full English... More

We bought this deal from Amazon local, 2 nights bed and breakfast for £79 for 2 people. Check in was supposed to be from 2pm but we arrived just before midday and were allowed into our room with no problems. Room was clean and tidy and perfect for our requirements. We upgraded to a full English breakfast from a continental... More

The double room was fairly small but was clean as was the en-suite shower room. There was a kettle and a small TV. There is a small bar area and they dont do food other than breakfast. You pay extra for a cooked breakfast but the Continenatl breakfast with canned fruit and toast is okay. The selling point for this... More

We stayed at this hotel with a Groupon voucher during May spring bank. The staff are polite and friendly. We stayed in an annexe away from the main building which looked like converted stables, but inside is suitably equipped with a comfortable double bed, en-suite bathroom, tv and tea making facilities. A continental breakfast was included in the price with... More

Made very welcome on arrival We stayed for three nights in one of the cottages in a room that was one of a block of three. The room was very clean, good tea and coffee making facilities and a TV (Although we were unable to tune into the BBC channels). The room had a high sky light which we were... More

Having spent the day walking we were looking forward to our stay with a hot shower or bath. We arrived 1900 The hotel reception was closed so picked our keys from the bar. The barman said we could settle the outstanding monies the next day. There was no hot water for a bath and the shower was little more than... More

A very good location if you are wanting somewhere to be able to experience the surrounding countryside, especially the walks. Our 2 night stay was very pleasant, nice room, very amicable staff, and easy to find location. We walked for 2 days without moving the car from the car park.

I booked a night deal with Amazon for Newton House recently. At the last minute I e-mailed Clive to tell him we'd been let down by the person who was going to look after our dog and he immediately offered to put us up in one of the cottages - which meant I could bring the dog with me. When... More
