I stayed here with my husband recently and would recommend it highly. The room was clean and comfortable and warm. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast and found the staff to be very friendly and we would go back. You are on the Tissington trail - a disused railway line which is wonderful for cycling with easy access to Ashbourne... More

We hired a private room for 20 family members to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and the food and ambience was excellent, the service was a bit slow but overall we had a fantastic party. Would recommend this venue to alll.

We were bought this as a Christmas present - 2 night stay with B&B and free evening meal! Visiting on a weekend stipulated an £10 per room per night. When we phoned the manager stated £30 but was corrected. Upon arrival, we were the only car parked and were pleasantly met by the ginger fluffy cat which has been previously... More

I agree with other reviewers that the outside and public areas of the hotel need a good update. It does look shabby and old fashioned and we were apprehensive when booking in. So much so that we had a look at the room first! We were pleasantly surprised, the room was very nice with adequate storage and clean nicely ironed... More

Very disappointed. In general this place is probably OK for ramblers or cyclists - those who are already pretty dishevelled from the weather and too knackered to notice how rough it was. You would probably give it a 5 if you had just spent the previous night in a tent in a storm. The room that we were allocated bore... More

I booked this trip to the newton house hotel as a Christmas present for my husband. We drove there to find a note pinned to the door, with my name on asking me to call a number. I did, and I was told there was no heating or hot water so they can't have guests. The man I spoke to,... More

Newton house hotel is a good choice for a beautiful weekend close to nature. The hotel is beside tishington trail of Ashbourne. The room was big and spacious, very quiet and clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast, it was tasty and rich. I recomment this B&B to everybody.

The ideal place to stay for walking or just visiting the area very local and ideal location. Would want to visit again very soon as we stayed for an event but the location and atmosphere are just the the ticket in this area.

I stayed here with my partner and 2 dogs for one night and was quite happy. We had an outside room (generously named a bungalow) because we had pets. It was adequate for what we needed. The room was very basic but clean. We checked in without any issues and were asked if we would like full English breakfast in... More

Stayed here for two nights. We were taken straight to our room which was spacious with plenty of storage. The room was warm and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Continental breakfast was simple but good. Went for a walk along the Tissington Trail on the first day, Alton Towers on the second day and finished off by hiring... More
