What a lovely place to stay. We were very impressed with this b&b. Just close enough to Ashbourne & Buxton. Spotlessly clean and so very welcoming too. Breakfast was very good too, no need to pay extra for a cooked one. Will definitely return.

Upon arrival we were told by the guy behind the desk that we were not booked in until the following night! He doubled checked his diary then shuffled some papers before agreeing that it had been entered into the diary incorrectly. No apology was made though. He then proceeded to tell us a long story about there being no Wifi... More

We bought an Amazon Local deal for two nights at this establishment - and I really wish we hadn't. First of all booking was problematic, they don't like to answer the phone, they prefer to do bookings by email (as told by a voice mail). Finding a date when they had a double room free was very difficult and in... More

Our stay was purchased on a website short break deal. I contacted the hotel beforehand to confirm our booking and make arrangements for my partners dog. The staff were very helpful, as not all rooms are made available to dog owners. The hotel is in a very rural area, 5 miles north of Ashbourne and is perfect for access to... More

The staff were having a bad day when we arrived. We were unable to find anyone at 1.45pm when we arrived, admittedly 15mins before advertised check in time but when a lady came in to the reception at 2pm she ignored us - no friendly word of welcome! When we asked to check in, just after 2pm, we were told... More

Not again.I stayed in room #27 in the cottage As we opened the door we were welcomed with the 'aroma' of urine, which was soon discovered to be travelling through the windows( actually just ventilators made fixed opaque glass). As we peeped through, we realised that source is the cattle shed and couple of dog kennels right next to our room.... Spent two nights on an Amazon local deal. Very satisfied with service, reception, room and breakfast excellent. We had room 8 and while this looked over main road and was a little noisy (we did have to have the window open as very hot) bed was very comfortable. Had buffet breakfast and was more than adequate. Hotel has character as... More

Stayed here for one night as we were attending an event at nearby Darley Moor race track. Wifi was none existent, despite it being and advertised feature. Room was dated and pretty shabby, especially the bathroom where there was visible mould and mildew in the shower and sink. The shower head was difficult to angle as it only stayed in... More
