Visited a week ago. I was made to feel welcome straight away. My dog was allowed into cafe which was excellent and the food was good value. We booked a POD as my dog is frightened of tents and was his first holiday. The Pod was just as I thought, basic, take everything you need when camping but the tent.... More

Just had a lovely couple of days at Rivendale. The staff couldn't have been nicer and very helpful. It's a large site in a quarry basin so you are surrounded by lovely rock faces. If you are a walker its superb and its in easy reach of Ashbourne which is a really lovely town. The pitch was ideal... Loads of... More

Had a week at this site. Real sun trap as in a quarry. Toilets and showers were very clean. Friendly welcome and very helpful with information about the area. Just across the road was Tissington trail and lovely walks off the roads through beautiful dales. The site had tents yurts and pods as well. The pitches were a good size... More

We camped this weekend in the big lovely meadow in our bell tent to celebrate my sisters birthday. It is a really great location - you are right on the Tissington Trail and can access loads of lovely villages and towns if you have a bike or are willing to go on a good long walk. It really is a... We visited and booked a small yurt for 3 of us and a dog. The ground was very boggy which was largely due to the heavy rain but never seemed to drain well. It was difficult to keep the yurt interior clean as a result and there is no covered area to store your boots. However, not the sites fault... More

We went here for one night glamping. It's our own fault really but wasn't what we expected. As campers we expected this to be a bit more luxury but literally all it is, is camping without a tent. Like I say this is our own fault so unlike us don't go expecting a bed, kettle and fridge in the pod... More

Thank you for your review. Our café is licensed and opens every day; the pub varies from low season (Friday eve, Sat, Sunday lunch) to high season (open most nights). However, there is one local pub about a 10 minute cycle ride up the Tissington Trail, and two others that would be a pleasant walk on a nice evening. More

We have just returned from a weekend at Rivendale. Lovely clean showers, nice staff and well kept site. We sat outside in the smoking shelter as it was raining and we had a dog. We were promptly advised we could take him in the bar which was lovely. Only little thing was we seemed to have a smaller 'V'shaped pitch... More

Thanks for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I would just like to take this opportunity to mention to people reading this that if you want a larger pitch, please ask for an awning pitch. Dogs are welcome in the Stables café during the day and upstairs in the pub when it is open. More

I recently stayed here, having looked for a quiet family friendly site. I particularly liked the idea of low level lighting so that the stars could be seen and its location near to plenty of walks. Unfortunately my first night was marred by thoughtless drunken behaviour from the pitch next door. However, this was promptly dealt with by the staff... More

Thank you for your review and kind words. I would also like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to deal with the noise issues from your neighbours, rather than just leaving and posting a noisy site review. We commend your courage and dignity. More

We hired two of the wooden yurts between two familes over the spring bank hol weekend (the large and the medium ones), also hiring the eco hot tub for one day. The yurts were pretty spacious, with two bunk beds inside, with the larger having a table and an extra annex compared to the medium. Unfortunately they did seem to... More

Thank you for your review. With regard to the mattresses, the choice has been driven by availability of the appropriate size, rather than budget. However, it is very difficult to find a mattress or bed that is to everybody's taste regardless of budget. There is the option to bring your own air beds, camp beds or mats which will fit... More
