Good campsite with various amenities - pub, cafe, shop, restaurant. Has a kid's play area but not much for smaller kids. Showers were hot & clean but not enough of them for such a large site, there were only 4 showers in the block so long queues in the morning. Site is close to the Tissington trail and various walking... More

The good: (1) On balance the staff were really helpful when approached (although other than one person, none were to be seen anywhere but the reception area for the whole 9 days we stayed). In previous campsites we have used someone came around every day just to check all is well. (2) The beautiful location in an old quarry, central... More

There's two ends to this site. A laid out campsite with pitches etc in the main Quarry; then a load of fields that's a bit more wild camping. Looking through the reviews it would be easy to think they were commenting on the same product as it were. Ask when you book. We stayed in the wild fields with a... More

Have read reviews for this site not having enough space on pitches, cannot see that, in all honesty had loads of room and nice high hedges giving you plenty of privacy. Location was great for trails, close to Dovedale, Ashbourne etc so plenty to do and see. Nice pub and restaurant with shop and cafe. Toilet blocks where definitely not... More

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend of camping at Rivendale. We stayed in the meadow which was great for our family (myself my husband and sons age 5 and 8) we had done our research before hand, and found Rivendale via their website which is very informative and told us everything we needed to know. There are... More

After a rubbish first experience camping, I wasn't excited about our two night camp at Riverdale! We'd booked The Meadow with no electricity! This was a family trip, 12 of us (5 kids) in four tents. The Meadow is as basic as it gets. Having to park then move all the stuff to the field is a drag but stops... More

We stopped for two nights, Sat & Sun. We camped on the top field, a bit of a pain that you cannot park your car next to your tent but they did let us know before we booked. The field is very uneven and the grass very long in places, making pitching a little more difficult, but you can pitch... More

A well located site that was always clean and tidy. The shower facilities were lovely and warm and were never busy. The site is lovely and peaceful during the week but is much noisier at weekends, we experienced several groups being noisy until well after midnight which wasn't great but that's the risk with sleeping in a tent. The shop... More

We have just returned from this site, stayed for 3 nights, £29 per night. We have a 2 berth caravan and awning, and the pitch allocated was not big enough, after paying extra for awning, we had only just enough space one side to fit the water bottles, and only 6" away from the hedge on the other side, that... We have just spent 3 nights in a pod here and have said we will definitely return. Pod was fine for what we needed and wanted and their was plenty of space for 2 beds, 2 chairs and the dog in the evenings. We spent much of the evening sitting outside the pod with plenty of space to all sit... More
