Stayed for a couple of nights just recently. Site is in an excellent location for Tissington Trail etc and we chose to camp in the meadow. Easy check-in, free to choose pitching location. Wheelbarrows to transfer kit from car to pitch good idea. We ate in the pub one evening and the food was good, quickly served, hot and the... More

Me and my partner stayed in a family pod. It was huge and very cosy, great value for money. The staff were very accommodating and pleased that the site was so dog friendly. Lovely food in the restaurant. Toilets and showers clean. Access to the Tissington Trail was a huge bonus. Thank you, will be returning!

We booked 3 nights camping for 4 people last weekend and unfortunately this site was not as good as expected. The camping meadows were quite close to a busy main road and we heard a lot of road traffic, even late at night. We also found it to be a very noisy campsite, not helped by our immediate neighbours sitting... More

Thank you for your review. Real ale is usually taken to refer to a cask-conditioned ale. We always have at least one available throughout most of the season, usually Black Sheep but sometimes Golden Sheep/ Whim Ales etc. The only reason we would not is if we had sold out and the next barrel was not ready - in which... Myself and some friends (total of 5 adults and 6 children) stayed in the meadow field camping. We were able to pick our own pitches with a wonderful view. Toilets and Shower block were clean and good washing up facility. No cars were allowed on our site but that was a lot safer as children could run around and we... More

Well located campsite in a lovely setting near the cute little village of Alsop. We camped so can only comment on the camping element- but lots if good pitches (we were in the meadow), toilet/showers/washing area nearby, nice cafe, small but well stocked shop and bar/pub grub at reception area. Also had childrens playground a short walk away. Good points-... More

We booked a standard pod on the hillside for three nights in high season. We arrived at lunch time and booked in expecting to have to wait till 2pm for our pod, but it was ready for us and we went straight up to it. I suppose you could whinge about the distance from the parking space and the amenities... More

We stayed here last year with our tent and this year with our tourer. This site for our family was perfect. A play area, shop with all we needed and a very friendly smile with the service. Our children age 9 and 6 love it here and we will be back again very soon!!

After a stressful few weeks, including a particularly nasty cycling accident, we decided an impromptu two-night trip to the Peak District was the perfect way to get back on on even keel. We found Rivendale via a search engine and were delighted to hear they had some pitches available for Sunday and Monday evening. From the moment we arrived, we... More

This is a great site and fits a variety of budgets. Great food (fair prices), friendly staff and terrific scenery. There are a lot of bad reviews on here, but I think it is unfair to use these to represent Rivendale. The hot chocolate is fantastic as are the brie, cranberry and bacon panini's. B&B rooms are beautiful and the... More

I wouldn't stay anywhere else! We have stayed regularly in our tourer and this year we are having a winter pitch. The scenery and views are to die for. Last year we stayed in a lodge, which worked brilliant for our family to get together and share Christmas. They are fully equipped with absolutely everything you would need, no expense... More
