My partner and I stayed at Riverdale a couple of weekends ago. It was a very belated birthday present and although the weather wasn't great, we had a lovely time staying in one of the pods. The site is very clean and well equipped with a really nice little bar and overall great facilities. It was the first time we... More

Thank you for your review. I am pleased you liked the park and the benefits of the camping Pods - and express my sincere apologies for the abysmal service you experienced in the café. Unfortunately we had staff off sick and the staff cover left a lot to be desired. I am surprised at your comments about the prices though... More

Stayed on the campsite in a tent with electric hook up from Friday till Monday We arrived on site about 2pm went straight to the office to check in We had a very nice lady give us a warm welcome and was told what area to pitch in and off we went. The pitch (6) was a 1 min walk... More

The site it self is well maintained with an easily accessible shower and toilet block, which was very clean. There was also a water point at each campsite. The pods were spacious and clean, and you have your own little porch, there is a lamp, heater and double plug sockets for those home comforts some of us can't live without.... More

Thank you for your review. I can't say I have ever come across dog-friendly accommodation that insists all visitors must have a dog. We have some Camping Pods which are dog-free for visitors that do not like dogs - but if they don't make this clear - we don't know! I suspect the angst might have been caused by your... More

We visited this park after searching for camping pods in a secluded location that is dog friendly as we have a German Shepherd. We booked what we were told was a cabin in a more private location. Unfortunately when we got there we were placed in amongst a large cluster of other camping pods and other pitches. As far as... More

Thank you for your review. I have responded to some of these points - which are a duplicate of your partners above. I would add that there are Timber Yurts, Canvas Yurts and Camping Pods that are individually sited on their own pitch at Rivendale; most (but not all) of which can accommodate dogs. More

Our first visit, and we will return. We stopped in pitch 38 crickhollow. Opposite the cliff face, it was quiet with sounds of birds only. Nice pitch, and having spent many years pitching on open space, it was unusual to be in a quarry. That said it grew on me. Hard standing is HARD standing. Bring STRONG pegs with a... More

Stayed here for two nights recently with a group of friends. We had two tent pitches with electric hook up. The pitches were a good size and were conveniently located near a drinking water supply. The shower and toilet block is located in the middle of the campsite and at the most is only a two minute walk from the... More

My wife and I stayed in a yurt for three nights.Very warm with the log fire going, but a bit of a treck to the loo block which was at the rear of the site.Bit of a bumpy road leading t the yurt.Family came as well. One in a camper van and two others in tents with electric hook ups.Plenty of space... My wife and I stayed here for three nights with my father-in-law in a holiday lodge. We were so impressed with the location, look and feel of the place coupled with the warm friendly reception by all of the staff we made an offer on one of the static caravan holiday homes for sale here. In our wanderings about the... More

There is so much that is good about this park but its the Little Things which were less good that took the edge off of our stay here. It is obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into creating a park inside a quarry. However there needs to be an attention to detail - such as untidy... More

This is our third visit to the site over the last 10 years or so. It's in a convenient location for the western White Peak attractions such as Dovedale Harrington and the Tissington and High Peak Trails. However we probably won't be back again. Not that there is fundamentally anything seriously wrong about the site, it's just that it's focus... More

Thank you for your review. You are correct in that we are re-building an eco-spa area and access road to it about 200 metres outside of the main pitching area. I am sorry you were inconvenienced by the noise of the building work; the builders are starting late (after 10 a.m.) finishing early and have now largely completed work that... More
