Myself and husband stayed in the B&B for a nice relaxing break from city life, the place was perfect! Everything we expected and more. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was immaculate with an amazing view of the fields surrounding the site ( room 1 ), the facilities and food were all excellent. We can't wait to... Wild camping options including fire pits at this extremely well managed travel park are fantastic value. Everything works as you could hope for; clean and hot showers and ample toilets, shop, cafe and weekend bar. However, the real joy are the views, space, walks in every direction plus great drainage enabling all conditions to be easily enjoyed.

The web-site boasts that there are 'spacious pitches' - but they are NOT. Overhanging trees make it very difficult to reverse a standard motor-home into the pitch we were allocated. Apparently customers are meant to stipulate what sort of pitch you want as you check-in at reception, but if you haven't been to the camp-site before this is extremely difficult!!... More

We went here this week for a couple of days. Very nice site. Friendly staff. Site is based in old quarry which gives it some added appeal. There is a nice cafe selling good food. An on-site pub called the Prancing Pony which we didn't visit looked appealing. May try it another time we stay. Shower block was really nice... More

We arrived last Tuesday and were allocated pitch Willowbottom 7. It is very shady, and immediately adjacent to pitch 8, with no separating hedge etc. We just about put up with this until Friday, when a caravan was allocated pitch 8. It's just not possible to get the statutory 6 metres between units. We went to reception to complain, and,... More

Thank you for your review. There is sufficient space on the area of hard-standing to comply with the statutory requirements. However, the overhanging branches would restrict the area on which a high-sided motor home could be parked - and we don't expect you to put up with anything. Had you let us know you wanted a different pitch we would... More

We stayed for three nights in 2010 and had a pitch in Crickhollow. It was lovely and the site was very well kept. We have just returned from one week, staying on a pitch in Willowbottom. The shower block was excellent. However, I was not happy with the state of the pitch this time. It was very unkempt! There was... More

Thank you for your email. A thirty minute WiFi free trial is (and was) available to café & pub patrons. We also completed a pay for satellite based system in the main pitching area last week to overcome the limitations of BT's poor infrastructure in this area. The pub was open Friday, Saturday & Sunday; the licensed café is open... More

As a regular to Rivendale, may I suggest that people read the descriptions of the site. It is very clear that there are no entertainment facilities as such, no swimming pool, no people to entertain you, this is the beauty of it. The play area is big enough for parents and children to play cricket, football etc. The no dogs... More

Thank you for your observations - which are bang on target. I would just add that with Go Ape, Alton Towers, Splash landings, Chatsworth house, farm & play area, the attractions at Matlock etc all within about 25 minutes drive or less of Rivendale, it is completely pointless investing large sums of money trying (and failing) to replicate fantastic facilities... We hired a camping pod in the Shires which was a great alternative to a tent and couldn't fault it. The facilities were good with many toilets and showers and the on site bar and cafe were very good. It was a great base for walking to Dovedale which is beautiful and the Tissington Trail.
