A unique experience. Beautiful location in a historic manor house. A few quirks primarily due to age but still well worth the money. Great staff and manager. Nice small bar and excellent breakfast choices.

From the moment we arrived we knew this hotel was something special. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our amazing room. We had room named Sarah and it was perfect for us. The views are stunning and I could have just stayed looking out of the window the whole weekend. The grounds are... More

We recently celebrated our wedding at Callow Hall. It was absolutely perfect and will be a treasured memory of ours forever. From the moment we met Diana the general manager we knew that we wanted to place our special day in her hands. The hotel is situated at the head of a sweeping drive and stands full of character in... Afternoon tea here is just gorgeous. Lots of lovely things, including some brilliant scones with clotted cream. In the end we gave in as there was so much to eat. Service was very good. We live locally but hadn't ever visited until this week. It's a small hotel with a lovely, country house style. And in a great setting with... More

Many hotels strive / contrive to achieve this type of style and elegance but Callow Hall is the real thing. From the moment you drive up the sweeping tree lined gravel drive and see the grand facade you realise you have found a special place. We were greeted at the portico by not one but two members of staff who... More

For a four star country house hotel we found the Callow House to be a disappointment. The building is old and has lots of character, but the hotel is rather tired and run down. The hotel does not have a lot of rooms, and the one we were allocated for the three night stay was small and, because of the... More

This countryside establishment provides a peaceful and upscale location to stay while in the Peaks area. When one books a room, the option exists to have dinner included. I highly recommend doing this because the Hotel is in an isolated location and the dining is quite fine. Dinner was a white glove service with an exquisite menu that was beautifully... More

A beautiful setting for a small wedding, the peaceful surroundings and the views created the ideal ambience for a memorable day. The ceremony was performed outside in the garden area ideal for family only wedding, allowing a very personal occasion. The meal following the ceremony was a high standard and the staff was attentive but not intrusive. This is certainly... More

We have just come back from a 2 night stay at this hotel and have very pleasant memories. To get the slight negatives out of the way first: yes some of the furniture in the superior room we had, Philip, is a bit battered around the edges, the floors creaked and one of the walls had some damp, but in... We would recommend this hotel for all the above reasons. My husband and I took my mother-in-law and her partner, for a short break as a belated Christmas present. It was important that the break was stress free and relaxing as my Mother-in-law is suffering from severe breathing problems and is awaiting a major operation. This meant that she required a... More
