What a lovely farm and guesthouse. Amazing hosts. Lots of farm animals to make friends with. Great tea room. Made to feel very welcome. Will be back here very soon! Stayed in the shepherd's hut which is romantic and cosy.

We've just got back from an afternoon out at Tissington, and a great value, delicious cream tea at this wonderful find off the main tourist route around the village. Tissington is one of our favourite places to go for a relaxing sunny afternoon and today thought we would follow signs to Bassettwood tea rooms. We had missed the sign that said... More

Staying here on our wedding night, everything was perfect from the warm reception in the evening after a long and tiring day, to the great cooked breakfast the following morning. We stayed in the Shepherd's Hut which was amazing, set away from the main B&B. I note some comments below regarding the toilets which are set back in the main... More

I spent one night at Bassettwood with my husband staying Bed & Breakfast. From the first e-mail enquiry to leaving the farm it was lovely. Sarah & Brian have got it just right. The bedroom is gorgeous, with a lovely spacious en suite shower room. The view from the room is stunning over the Peak District. Breakfast was very good... More

On our holidays last week we decided to walk into Tissington and arriving in this beautiful picturesque village of myself, husband and two children felt a little peckish. We were attracted to Bassettwood Farm after spotting a couple of signs advertising Cream Teas at £2,50 person, so we thought we would give it a try, well we were so glad... More

We arrived at Bassettwood for tea and cake at 5pm - just the time when other establishments are closing their doors. The farmhouse is outside the village and you need to follow a semi made up road for some distance to reach it, but the journey is well worthwhile. We both enjoyed cream teas (one large scone each, more jam... More

Really beautiful location, on top of the hill with far reaching views. We loved meeting the pygmy goats, pigs, huge chickens, Tommy the pony and my favourite, the gold and black art deco chicken! Very clean bathrooms and a friendly cat. Liked seeing the heifers through the tea room window. Scones arrived still warm from the oven with delicous jam... More

Really nice place to stay. Beautiful landscape, lovely breakfast, Sarah. Brian and Brian's dad were all very friendly, as were the animals (especially the lambs and the goats - watch out for the ginger cat though - he's a biter). The cream teas looked great - shame we were too full for it before arriving! The room and en-suite bathroom... More

What a relaxed and friendly palace to stay. Both Sarah and Brian were very welcoming during our stay and a hearty breakfast was enjoyed every morning. The shepherd's Hut was very quaint and snug and just perfect to wake up to the cattle and sheep getting on with their day. Only a short walk to the shower and toilet facilities... More

I booked a night away in the Shepherd's Hut as a surprise for my husband. We had been recommended by friends who stayed there for Valentines Day (see review below!) and we loved it! We had cream teas on arrival and were directed to a lovely pub for dinner. The hut itself had spectacular views, was furnished to a very... More
