Just returned from a 2 day break at Beechenhill Farm. It was our second visit here and we really can't fault it. The double room is lovely and comfy, especially after a long day of walking. The hosts are amazing, shortbread and fresh milk in the room both days and the breakfasts were just perfect. We are looking forward to... More

Very comfortable stay in a lovely farmhouse, dramatically located on a plateau overlooking Ilam. The views are stunning. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Superb breakfasts - we loved the creamy porridge made with fresh cow's milk and the scrambled egg with strips of Swedish smoked trout.

We love Beechenhill! Our second stay at the beautiful B&B family room was even lovelier than last year--freshly decorated, fantastic new shower, and the amazing breakfasts and surroundings even better than we’d remembered. Our sons actually whooped as we came into the room! Thanks so much to Alex and all the family for a wonderful, welcoming stay—we can’t wait for... More

As someone who likes to visit different places and try out new places to stay, I may have found the B&B to change my mind and make me return. From the moment we arrived (there was a welcome on a chalk board in the car park) to the time we left (sad to go), everything was just perfect. This farm... More

We selected Beechenhill as our destination for a family birthday celebration based on it's great reviews on Trip Advisor and were delighted with our choice. We took the larger cottage and both B&B rooms (on bed only basis). The accommodation was ideally suited for our group of adults and small children with lots of space to explore outdoors in beautiful... More

Thank you for your review, it is great that you took the time- we really appreciate it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and happy that you enjoyed playing table tennis in the haybarn! Do you know that is what we originally restored the barn for- until folk said they wanted to get married in there- so... More

This was our first visit to the Peak District, staying at the Cottage by the Pond as a family of six (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 grandchildren). The accommodation was very homely, spotlessly clean and freshly decorated. Really cosy and warm everywhere, practical and with everything needed for our three-night break; eco-friendly. Fresh milk virtually on tap, lovely Victoria sponge... More

We stayed in one of 2 B&B rooms. On arrival we were met by Sue and shown to a lovely room...a big bed, beautiful touches everywhere(Sue is an artist and clearly a talented one) and there is a cosy sitting room downstairs to be used by those staying in either room. We had a quick tour of the farm and... More

This is one of the nicest guesthouses I've stayed in. Gorgeous, isolated location with lots of walking and cycling. Our room was beautifully decorated, had an excellent shower and had lovely little touches, such as blankets and homemade biscuits, to make you feel at home. Breakfast is full of options, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Also, we couldn't have asked... More

Wow! Gorgeous cottage for 2, in a stunning location! All mod cons yet still with a rustic, farmhouse ambience that made us feel at home! Homemade chocolate cake waiting for us on arrival themed for Valentines! Will definitely be going back for longer in better weather but even the storms couldn't dampen my love for this place. Thank you for... More
