I would disagree with the previous review. Any building of the age of Chateau de la Motte has a right and expectation to show its age a bit, that is its beauty and what makes it truly special. But in our view that does not extend to the facilities the Chateau offers to visiting guests. It is a most comfortable... More

We visited this area of France around 10th May 2015 and saved our euro for one big night in a Chateau. The bathroom barely functioned, including dim lighting and barely hot water. The room looked tired and unkempt and could do with more suitcase stands and/or storage, it had just the one small wardrobe. As I was feeling the effects... More

Stayed for two nights with kids. Great spot. Truly a great experience. Owners were fantastic and really care about the castle and their guests. Highly recommend if you want to stay in a real castle. Ask about a meal as we hear they can prepare some great meals.

We were treated to one nights stay plus dinner. This was in November 2014 just a couple of nights before they closed for the season. It was just after nightfall that we arrived and as the lights were lit both inside and out it was quite magical. The entrance hall, the stone stairs, the tower, the rooms felt welcoming and... More

This castle is visible for leagues around, has beautiful grounds, and is richly appointed. Jean-Marie and Marie made us feel welcome and at home. Large rooms with luxurious furnishings. Excellent food (much fresh from the garden), wine, and company. We breezed in early evening for one overnight, leaving the next morning, but wished we could have stayed longer. A bit... More

If our route through France allows we always stay at Chateau de la Motte. The host (Jean-Marie) is very welcoming and happy to relate the history of the Chateau. Both he and his wife (Marie-Andree) can take much pride in the renovations they have carried out and the furniture and furnishings they have put together to create what is really... More

We booked for one night and stayed for three as it was such a restful, beautiful spot with great hosts and central to some interesting towns and sites. Very spacious quarters within the castle - huge bed lounge room, library and bathroom. Beautiful grounds and gardens. Meals are excellent. Added bonus - no TV

Stayed for two nights at this beautiful Chateau. Location magical and room superb with wonderful views over the countryside especially from the "Quirky" toilet. Our hosts were very welcoming and shared many stories about history of their splendid home. We reserved dinner on both evenings before which Jean-Marie shared and explained the numerous aperitifs available for us to sample. Marie-Andree... More

As part of our "Tour the France" we stayed for three nights in chateau de la Motte. Three wonderful nights, the best of our tour! The rooms are great; a lot of space, incredibly thick walls and beautiful four-poster beds! The food was fantastic; the breakfasts were great, the dinners even better. We can specially recommend the duck fillet! Last... More
