Searching for a pit stops en route to Spain I found a perfect spot. The old barn is now a charming residence in a lush and tranquil setting. The co-ordinates from the web site meant it was an easy find. Fudge is delighted to welcome doggie guests and bring them for a run around the garden. Finding accommodation that has... More

This was my second visit to this beautiful 'home' (for it felt like home) for a five day writing retreat. You know how sometimes you think you shouldn't go back to somewhere that was so good the first time, it just couldn't be bettered? Well, miraculously, this trip was even better than last year. I put this down to the... More

I spent a week here on a writing retreat and loved the beautiful, peaceful, calm environment surrounding the very spacious yet cosy converted barn. It's a masterpiece of design with its roomy, private bedroom spaces upstairs, overlooking the central space with its big round wooden table at one end, lofty fireplace at the other, and sofas for writing, chatting, playing... Went here for a retreat with my writing group and it was fabulous. The rooms were excellent, the food home-cooked and amazing, the wine delicious. The hosts were wonderful - friendly, helpful. It was everything you could want from a week away. I can't recommend this enough!

I attended a writer's retreat here and was a little wary of heading to a destination like this in rural France since I am a dedicated city-dweller. I had some worries however all of my fears were unfounded as this was a fantastic, memorable trip. It was such a beautiful environment, the house is breathtaking yet extremely cosy (open fire,... A beautiful, tranquil, country location. The house is charming (beams, fire, pretty garden with comfortable beds and nice shower, pleasant garden with pool and trampoline). Alison is lovely- so helpful and friendly but not intrusive and a great cook. Many kind extras from cookies to advice on trips and help phoning taxis and printing off boarding cards etc. I would... We were delighted to find la Tuilerie. Our stay was towards the end of our two month cycling trip meandering from Burgundy to Bordeaux, staying at many a chambre d'hote and we are happy to say this ranked with the best. The meal was excellent, around a lovely big table shared with other guests (Irish cyclists, Belgian business person). Alison... More

By chance, we discovered this gem on our way down through France en route to Spain. The offer of a warm pool and cool beer was most welcome, and the room was cool and comfortable. The first evening was spent at a weekly seasonal food fair in a nearby town on Wednesdays in summer on Alison's recommendation. A real flavour... More

This is an amazing place to stay!! We stayed 1 night here as a pit stop on our way to Lisbon but would have been happy to take a full holiday here. The host, Alison, is the best host you could hope for, she is soooo welcoming & friendly. We arrived at approx 6:30 & it was fairly cool so... More

We had a lovely night here, having arrived on bikes. Alison goes to a lot of effort to make sure guests are comfortable and introduces people to eachother which was good since we ate with other guests from Germany and Italy. A delicious four course meal was made on the night on request with local cheeses. The house itself is... More
