We booked here rather last minute and it was pretty much all that was available in the area on the dates we wanted. The room was clean and we had a small private sitting room which was good to relax in. I think we were the only people in the hotel who weren't there to fish the River Wye and... More

A fiend and I drove over from Eat Anglia to meet two others for a fishing trip. The big mistake was only staying for one night! The pub is charming, the rooms very nice (the shower in mine was large and very powerful). We had a picnic on the river bank on the first night but the breakfast was first... More

We had a large room with separate living area where we stayed very comfortably for 5 nights. It was very quiet at night despite being a pub & we slept very well. The food was excellent, much better than normal pub fare. Our host was friendly & helpful & even posted my husband's jacket back to him at no cost... More

As 4 Motorcyclists and pillions, we stayed here for 2 nights, for a weekend in mid-October, to enjoy the fantastic roads here and mid Wales. Mike, the landlord, was very accommodating and all of us were looked after superbly. The Hotel is very popular with fishermen and has its own beats on the Wye. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and... I was one of 16 who stayed at the Red Lion to partake of the hospitality and fishing. It was a perfect base as it provided comfortable accomodation and nearby fishing. The breakfasts and evening meals were very good and the bar was very welcoming. The river was low but we all caught some fish and one of the group... More

We go to this hotel every year and we stayed in August this year. surprisingly the hotel has had a face lift and a new menu!, but this didnt take away any charm from this olde worlde hostelry. As usual the host was welcoming as well as the other staff. ( Gordon). Rooms are lovely and comfortable and food is... More

We needed somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay whilst down in Hereford for a family wedding. After searching the area, we found the Red Lion, which was only five minutes from the wedding venue. Price was reasonable for what looked on Google like fairly basic accommodation and we were only in need of bed and a hearty breakfast. What a... More

This is a small hotel with a block of accommodation units, set out very much like a US motel, but with a much smaller number of rooms. There is very little competition in the area, but that does not stop this venue from being excellent value and the manager is friendly and knowledgable about the area. Rooms are en suite... More

I stayed here with 5 friends for 4 nights as we were cycling round the area. It is fairly remote but it is an excellent place to stay. Mike the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic. Dinner choices are good. We had a Vegan with us and he was well catered for. The breakfast is made... More
